greenfairy43
It's not a Pancake Day one, but when we were walking along the pavement,my Gran would always recite: "Tread on a line & you'll marry a swine And a beetle will come to your wedding." Love it!
The Nal
More of a joke, and oldie but goodie: A Welshman, an Englishman and an Irishman were having a drink. They got to talking about children's names. 'My son was born on St David's Day', remarked the Welshman, 'So - look you, we obviously Christened him David.' 'That's a real coincidence', observed the Englishman', My son was born on Michaelmas Day, 29th of September, so we decided to call him Michael.' 'That's remarkable', piped up the Irishman, 'Exactly the same thing happened with my son Pancake.'

ampersand
What are you giving up for Lent Denilson?
gratedenini
Its always the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of lent. So you can pig out on pancakes and shit before you give something up for lent. But as Easter is late this year, apparently they can change the day Jesus died willy-nilly, Pancake Tuesday is also late. What are you giving up for Lent Denilson? Petherton
My grandmother also used to sing this at her primary school during the First World War. She lived in Birmingham, Uk. She used to sing it to when we were children. “ Pancake Day! Pancake Day! If you don’t give us a holiday, we’ll all run away!”
