lineup before download is selling out?

Hi all,

we are thinking about going to the Download Festival. Now we would like to wait for the Lineup of the Reading festival. But we are not sure if we get the lineup from Reading before Download is selling out...

Is there a chance to get the lineup before? How was it in the past years? Never been to a festival in England, thats why I ask.

just wait for the Reading line up. You can always get a ticket off a seller for download as theres plenty of genuine sellers out there selling for good price IF download does sell out

I think Reading are gonna have to pull off something special this year. The lack of rumours and more attractive alternatives could mean a change in the tide.

AC/DC, RATM and Aerosmith are an attractive prospect to both the Reading and Download fan base, a slip-up in terms of bookings could lead to Reading goers jumping ship!

Have to agree. This year could be amke or break for R&L in terms of attracting the rock crowd. They may pull it off or they may throw in the towel and take the festival in a different direction. Only time will tell.

dont think R/L are too worried about the rock crowd to be honest.they managed quite well last year without the rock fans(other than the few of us who bought the ticket before the line up was announced).it still sold out.

there is no point(or need) in R/l trying to get the rock crowd as realistically there is no way they can compete.lets face it,from a rock point of view,are reading likely to come up with a line up to top AC/DC,RATM,aerosmith,TCV,stone temple pilots,etc.

What is interesting is that the touts struggled to shift their tickets last year. Was talking to a couple of them outside (my mate was considering coming down and buying a ticket) and he said he'd been there since the Wednesday (this was Friday) and only sold 2 weekend tickets. Could mean the touts snap less up this year.

I'm a rock fan and I went last year, was pleased with the line up as well! There's a big difference between no rock and no metal.

im off to download but im sure there will be plenty who'll take my place at reading,so why would R/l try to get decent rock/metal bands to keep the likes of me happy?

saying that,if the likes of green day,biffy clyro and soundgarden get announced for reading along with a decent lock up line up i might end up stumping up for both.

They will still have stuff like My Chemical Romance, Lostprophets, Blink 182 and Paramore on the bill so I don't think they will be turning into V-Festival mach II just yet. Though the headliners will probably be more 'indie', unless they get green day or Guns n Roses. Or Eminem even.

This was for Leeds/Reading, right? I really fancy going again this year, but not sure I can persuade mates to come without the lineup being announced. Plus if its possible to avoid paying £200 a ticket that will help too.
