i think everyone can agree its one of the best v line ups, it even has great depth and diversity for once.

they seem to have booked more dance bands than in past years and theres lots more indie aswell. and much less pop.

im seriously looking forward to faithless/kasabian - i'd love prodigy but kasabian have been my favourite act from past v's so im definitely there. i think theyle put on a stomper aswell.

Very Very Very pleased :P Even better than last year and i adored last year

Cheryl Cole wont be headlining dont worry, Groove Armada are playing and they'd be above her.

They didnt announce the Hylands Sat/Weston Sun Arena headliner till weeks after the lineup first got announced

Happy with the following:

Stereophonics

Paul Weller

KOL

Faithless

Courteeners

Charlatans

Editors

Paolo Nutini

The Kooks

Temper Trap

La Roux

Overall a better than expected line up. Most pleasant surprise is the double dose of Phonics/Weller :P

For the 1st time in 6 years I didnt buy an early bird ticket as I didnt plan to go back to V this year as the line up I felt was getting worse each year. How wrong was I about this year! V have pulled it out the bag for me.

Faithless - probably one of their last festival appearances ever, as I hear the new album will be the last

KOL

Phonics

Weller

Editors

Temper Trap - well done V for booking a decent up and coming band

Groove Armada

Passion Pit

Man I aint looking forward to Thursday (Essex residence tickets) and if unsuccessful, Friday!

Headliner issues aside I was really surprised by the variety on the bill, but I think Faithless would be better on the C4 (not saying anything about Faithless I know they're good).

There are some really good bookings in there like Paul Weller, Editors, 'Phonics and Madness to name a couple and newer acts like Temper Trap to keep the interest.

Two nagging questions though:

1. What the hell is Cheryl Cole doing headlining anything other than The Sun?

2. Why are KoL above Stereophonics? I seriously doubt KoL's headlining credentials, I know they have some good tunes but they have done the touring to death and anyone who wanted to see them has in last two years. I was thinking we'd have a big band from the '90s like Suede, New Order (or big hope for The Pixies).

Was gutted no Them Crooked Vultures though considering the popularity, but can't have anything and seeing them at Download anyway. Oh and last gripe why is that tool Paolo Nutini playing?

On the whole though was pleasantly surprised.

I wasn't going to go this year, as my poor funds are looking bloody diabolical, But when I heard the line up yesterday I actually had a little cry.

KoL and kasabian along with Shed Seven have thrown it for me.

Now the only question is how the hell am I going to raise the funds?? The selling of my ass or my soul for a ticket has crossed my mind!! ha ha ha :P

Strip out the headliners and it's pretty good lineup! Some very surprising bookings for me anyway (Faithless, Plan B, Madness, Passion Pit, David Guetta - big time taking him away from the big dance festivals).

I'm still toying the Kasabian/Prodigy clash. Knowing that Prodigy may not make another album or appear at V for a while; I'm probably going have to go on my tod to see them, lol.

same here gigs festivals and knackered car have left funds very low, so ebay for me nearer the occasion. but im confident buying tickd from ebay so no big deal.

I'm sooooo happy about Madness!!! And why I was a bit underwhelmed by the rest of the announcement that is mainly because I've already seen so many not that I don't like them. And I know that when I'm there and they're on stage, I'll be having a fantastic time - phonics, kasabian, Editors, ... yeah pretty happy! And gonna have to start listening to some new stuff and hope to find some new favourites to see by August. There are loads of bands I like now which I first caught at V.

Another happy man here. Most excited I've been about a line-up for a good 5 or 6 years.

In fact, I'm not even bothered about the appalling Cheryl Cole/Tweedy headlinging scenario as there is so much more to look forward to already :

Kings of Leon

Stereophonics

The Prodigy

FATM

The Kooks

Paul Weller

Madness

Shed 7

Groove Armada

Plan B

The Charlatans

Now hoping that Vampire Weekend still get announced and Gomez and/or Fun Lovin Criminals somewhere further along the line - just risking a lot of clashes now!!!!

Amy Macdonald - Seen a couple of times at Festivals, quality

Editors - New album apart from 1 song is rubbish, but very good older stuff

Florence And The Machine - Not seen her yet, looking forward to this one

Kings of Leon - Great selection of songs

Madness - Some classics, gotta be done

Newton Faulkner - Another quality festival artist

Paolo Nutini - see above

Paul Weller - see madness

Plan B - Missed him in 2007, looking forward to him

Skunk Anansie - see Weller

Stereophonics - Awesome

The Charlatans - Seen them at V few years back, some classic songs, might tag along again

The Kooks - If they do some new stuff and its good

The Prodigy - Only really a fan of about 5 songs but never seen them, and I don't like Kasabian

The Temper Trap - Looking forward to these as well

White Lies - Seen them a couple of times, very good live

Just awaiting some more good acts now!
