Indeed, but tbf to the daily star they have got the line ups right the past couple of years and also said Paul McCartney would be at IOW.

eFestivals history is bigger and better at these things than the Daily Star's, if that's the basis you're going on for why you think they should be re-added as a rumour.

Things get added or not to the rumours here because there's a basis for doing so. The fact that there's people out there who think GD are a headliner is not by itself reason enough when put against the info in my hands.

That doesn't mean that I think I'm definitely 100% right and they're definitely 100% wrong, it just means that I know what I know while not knowing anything about what they know.

tell you what .... why don't you write the band's name on a bit of paper, and when you go to the rumours page you can stick it onto the screen. That way everyone's happy.

What I do know is that AF and Blink were named in today's Star off the back of what efests published.

They chose to not believe the MCR bit, going with GD instead - I've no idea why. But if they're so in the loop, they'd have published earlier, and wouldn't have relied on the same names as efests.

So are they really in the loop? Definitely not as much as some people are presuming, that much I know.

And MCR under Green Day would make sense;

1. Green Day are obviously bigger

2. Green Day and MCR are friends

3. MCR supported Green Day in America on the American Idiot tour

so you never know!

i think MCR will be the headliners. Its fits in with mikey posting on twitter 'R E A D I N G A N D L E E D S' last year and i wouldnt expect FR to have booked the sub headliners that early.

they didnt get bottled to f**k. They did get bottled but only a bit by slayer fans.

FR wouldnt have booked NME headliners or mainstage Sub headliners before the 09 festival. Mikey posted that thing on his twitter before the 09 Festival. Plus they do have a new album coming out which is apparently going to be "amazing". I dont think they should headline but there is more evidence pointing towards them headlining tbh.

We can only hope. Green Day haven't played a British Festival for too long now. I mean, I wont be going to Leeds, but I love the festival and feel that it can't risk dissapointing on such a major scale.

i personally hope greenday do play... but would rather it be someone like muse or foo fighters but there is no chance of us getting them this year... im a bit dissapointed with those headliners... but would love to know why there is a difficulty to pull the big headliners at such a historic festival :S

GD only would have said no cos it would have been their first uk date of the 21CB tour and they wanted to do indoors first, as usual. No one opens a tour with a fest

I'd rather see MCR than Green Day to be honest. The way I look at it MCR are the only one of the three headliners who have improved their status since the last time they play. Arcade Fire and Blink have done nothing since playing last time.

Except obviously Green Day in 2004. And then there was Arctic Monkeys last year. Muse did their first proper UK Date for Black Holes & Revelations at R&L in 2006. Smashing Pumpkins in 07 also springs to mind. Oh, and Metallica in 2008 and 2003.

They said No to 2009 but said maybe to 2010 i remember reading the article on rock sound ages ago, blink did the same only it looks like they've managed to get them.
