VCK
Who would I prefer to headline out of MCR or Pendulum? Who would I prefer as PM out of Hitler or Stalin?
gr4h4m
Looks like GnR are back in the picture with Kerrang reporting the headliners will be them, MCR and Blink. Personally i still believe it will be something along the lines of; Blink 182, Arcade Fire and Green Day. Even then everytime Green Day are mentioned it just seems less and less likely! Come on Festival Republic, sort it out!

borobud
GNR would a terrible choice, surely FR took into account their performance at download 2006? it was horrible

borobud
Do people feel the 3 'TBC' acts will be the headliners? even though they are TBC and eFests thinks they are, i just can't see it happening. Blink 182, Guns N Roses of Gorillaz and Green Day as headliners, with Arcade Fire andMCR been sub-headliners.
rockinthecasbah
Lets face it, the festival will sell out regardless who is playing. We all know by now that touts buy a shed load of tickets, which Festival Republic refuse to address 'cos they know if they stop the touts there's a risk the festival won't sell out. borobud
So you'rte going on a performance 4 years ago, whereas there reent shows have been given rave reviews. Edited March 3, 2010 by borobud
Rough Trader
After being fairly indifferent about Green Day, I've changed my mind. I'd love to see them headlining. My slightly optimistic prediction would have them playing above My Chemical Romance, which would make sense in some regards. However, what with them having their massive arena tour, I would really doubt it. Also, after having headlined Download, why would they need to take a step down? Rough Trader
I love the three bands we have at the moment regardless. So while it's not the biggest and best line up for all concerned, I'm pretty lucky. Green Day wouldn't hurt a bit though. Better than some awful, overweight GnR tribute, put it that way. mjsell
First post for me (be nice) in response to the headliners I would say that Blink, AF and MCR would be extremely weak, and if Green day were added it would undoubtably make it a stronger lineup. I just have a funny feeling that we don't know the whole story - and obviously wont until late march. Expect the unexpected is all i can say (and hope). However headliners don't make a festival (they may sell one though), for me if any of these bands were to play I would be a happy bunny Biffy Wolfmother the offspring BRMC the cribs Foals Editors Feeder Julian casablancas LCD soundsystem The xx Weezer Chances? borobud
So do we think MCR will still be at L/R (hopefully subbing to Green Day) now that their drummer has left? as the new drummer will have to learn all their new material aswell as their previous 3 albums. Unless they have an understudy drummer
Role Model
this drummer issue isnt going to stop them playing, people need to let it go.
Lithium05
Aye, I remember the drummer missed a good chunk of the Black Parade tour because he got badly burned while filming a video ("Famous Last Words" I believe the vid was for, him getting burned is still in the vid), they had no problem sorting out a temporary replacement then, I doubt very much they will have any trouble finding one now, be it temporary or permanent.
