When do the gates open for weekend campers?

Last year we got there late on the Friday night. Do the gates open ealry Friday morning or can you go on the Thursday?

I can only speak for Chelmsford but they opened the gates at about 11 last year.

7:30am at weston on the friday. unless they do early entry thursday again but doubt it

Last year there was no Thursday entry and there's been no mention this year so I'm guessing the same.

We were parked about 8:30 and had the first beer open by 9:15 :

Says on the V website that they are considering the Thursday opening this year for Stafford and that if they go ahead with it they will announce it on the website nearer the time.. Why don't they do this for Chelmsford? Would suit me miles better as I could travel over on the Thursday after work rather than have to get up stupidly early on the Friday for the flight!

We got to the festival about 8pm on the Friday night and it was a nightmare trying to find a space. Was walking around for over an hour trying to find a spot.

We got to the campsite after parking and everything at Chelmsford last year at 12.20pm and there was no way that they had only opened the gates at 12pm! It was completely rammed and hundreds of tents already up. We camped in the 'Quiet Zone' which actually was much better as you got a bit more room, can't really say it was quiet tho!
