I'm loving the build up to the line-up announcement this year. The banter on forums is so widely varied because the fact is that FR have been so tight-lipped that no-one really has a clue who will and won't play. All people can do is speculate, which just adds to the fun of it all.

Can't wait til' announcement day!

I'm looking forward to the announcement as well! I have to say, I didn't expect to be heading back down to Leeds after going last year for a break from TITP, but the TITP line-up has forced my hand and I'm making a return trip. Bring it on.

Although peoples outright denial to accept what they're being told is wearing a bit thin. Also, people starting threads about things that have already been discussed (TCV, Green Day, etc) is quite annoying. But yeah. For me, these headliners beat last years, and I don't even like Arcade Fire!

Much more interesting this year. I like the fact that (if these headliners are correct) there's a shift back from last year to an 'alternative' festival. Loads of people I work with went to Leeds for the 1st time last year purely due to KOL & Arctic Monkeys, they wouldn't have dreamed of going before. Since sharing this 'news' with them they've all decided to go back to V.

Putting your personal taste to one side though and speaking objectively,last years headliners are alot more credible than this years crop.All three of this years could be a sub-headliner were as last years were all definitive headliners.

... I fear you're underestimating my stubborness when it comes to accepting Arctic Monkeys or Kings of Leon as credible bands. It would take a hefty cash donation to a wallet of my choice (I'd probably go with mine) for me to even consider this as true.

Agreed! This has been the most exciting year for a while in my opinion, not because any of the line-up rumours look good, but because hardly anyone knows who they are going to be (ok we THINK we know the headliners now, but its nothing official). On my blog (which I shall not plug) there have been much more interesting reactions and replies to the news.

I'm not going this year so I'm not too bothered, but its awesome seeing what everyone has to say!

good news is if its a load of shite bands playing this year, should be a cracking line up next year when i do go!!

I'm loving all the speculation this year and I'm loving everyone throwing there toys out the pram. The less moany shits at the festival the better.

Have to agree with Lithium as well, I thought last years headlinmers were shit. The only one worth a mention were Radiohead, at least they were something different.
