Hi Jim,

Posted a thread yesterday but didn't hear anything back, so thought I'd try my luck here :)

I'm wanting to pick up a 2 day camping ticket on the friday (for sat/sun) itself due to the fact I don't get paid until the friday, and can't get to Rockness until about 10pm anyway. I've been given the impression you can buy single day tickets at the ticket office but does anyone know if you can pickup the 2day camp at facevalue-ish rather than seperate day tix plus the camping extra.

Also lends the problem of getting into camp on the friday night - I've read somewhere else that I could keep busy in the Nesstival area until midnight and then should be allowed to enter camping - although I've also read that I wouldn't get in until saturday morning!

Any help appreciated, last minute decision to attend for the first time and a little lost / squeeze for cash if no luck with the box office.

Cheers,

Joe.

Jim,

Quick question, there is a good few of us going up but one of our mates decided to take advantage of the student tickets instead of buying the regular one at the time. Now we all have Front Row and he has a student ticket. Is there any way for us to get him into Front Row with us? Do the Student Tickets allow access or can he upgrade in any way, if so how much?

Cheers

hi paul

i dont think its going to be a disaster and from what ive seen there arent that many people complaining.

we launched the early bird at £100 which was a lower price offer ticket.

we then launched the front row ticket for £120 which was to get you a guaranteed camping spot in purple.

it was never the original intention for the EB tickets to get into FR.

when asked on this forum about it i said that if EB want to go into FR then they can as i didnt want to penalise EB people.

all we are asking is that those wanting to do this (which isnt that many as lots of people prefer to stay in yellow or in quiet camping in red anyway) is to exchange the ticket at the box office before going in. this means that we dont have to run 2 ticketing systems at the wristband exchange area which i would potentially cause more problem.

those people who dont want to bother with purple or exchanging their ticket will just camp as they would normally with yellow or red.

let me know if ive missed the point as ive not had chance to look at all the messages and if i have then let me know the issues and i'll look into.

regards

jim

One thing which has been asked a few times is whether there is any scope for student or other tickets to be upgraded to include front row, as many people with student tickets are worrying about not being able to camp with their friends. Any clarification on what we can do about this on Friday?

Hi Jim,

This certainly makes things a bit clearer on why we need to change our tickets then, thanks for clearing that part up :)

Now with regards to running 2 ticketing systems at wristband exchange, if you need any help on ideas on how to do that then let me know as I ran the security at Reading Festival wristband exchange for 5 years where we managed to run day and weekend ticket queues for over a lot more people per day and it went smoothly with no problems :P

See you in Howards End on the Sunday, just name the time ;)

Hi Jim,

I won tickets through the RockNess/Cruise/In demand comp mentioned on your site - Romeo said I would receive an e-mail that I would have to take to the box office (which is going to be mobbed by the sound of things  ) I have not had any confirmation of this yet and am starting to get a bit worried - was going to try and contact someone tomorrow - but not sure who I have to contact.

Any Ideas?

Cheers,

Stu

hi jim,

nice to see you on here trying to get all the questions answered before friday.

thanks for explaining why our tickets don't say front row, it makes sense now, but having to exchange tickets at the box office is an inconvenience to say the least..

why can't security be told to admit anyone with an EB ticket to front row, if that is where they want to go?

seems unfair we have to exchange our tickts for something that isn't our fault.

also, can you advise if the box ofice staff are aware of this and will they have enough tickets to exchange?

We had similar issues when trying to obtain the email and accreditation to get on site when winning a competition 2 years ago.

We emailed the PR lady who sorted it all out

Scottish Media and PR

Mary McGowne; The Vine PR Company Ltd.

mary@thevineprcompany.co.uk

Maybe try that?

Hey Jim,

I got myself a front row camping ticket ages ago with the intention of camping with all my friends. Then my girlfriend decided to come to Rockness as well, and missed out on the front row camping (and we're going to be sharing a tent).

Since I don't really want to miss out on camping with my friends, I was wondering - if we upgrade her ticket to a VIP ticket at the ticket kiosk by the entrance, do you know if this would entitle her to camp in the front row section? As it looks from the map like you have to go through front row to get to VIP.

Cheers!
