Next Announcement

I'd like to see Alesana play, but tbh I'm sure most people will hate them :P. really love them personally though..

But yeah, I agree it feels hard to get excited about future announcement. Just too many forgetable bands who will inevitably play the rest of the line up, albeit I'm still sure a few gems will pop up. The rumours are still very minnow and small so I'll wait and see I guess :P.

Lol theres a screenshot on the soni fourm saying hes playing there.

Its a fake. Slash doesnt reply to tweets because he texts them in, and he does it via facebook (i believe)

For him to reply he'd have to

A ) do it publicly (which he hasnt)

or

B ) do it privately, which means he'd need to follow the person who asked him the question. Which he wouldnt.

so i wouldnt pay any attention

I think they'd be amazing in a tent but is the other singer still out? Because I'm no fan of their album without him, it seems too serious and unoriginal to my ears - I loved the fun of their gigs with him in, with songs about killer robots from the future etc, where his job was mainly to poor stella into the mouths on the front row.....good times :P

Damn, I thought he was only out for a year to rest his voice?

Oh well he wasn't exactly 'needed,' the band just had more of an aggressive modern sound when he was in it - which is why I liked them: they were old school but with a more modern kind of aggression in their sound. Now they're just old school, not something I like too much. Can still appreciate it though. :P

I still want to see them play again, so I hope they play Download - they are the perfect drinking band for me.

Just seen the new additions to Rock Am Ring - thinking we'll now get Slash, Cancer Bats, possibly Halestorm (they're big with Kerrang at the moment), and perhaps Alkaline Trio, Year Long Disaster and Zebrahead?

AC Just twittered these two nuggets

''So I'm hearing Slash and Zebrahead are making noises they are playing Download?? Hmmm...interesting''

''19 new bands ready to announce (+ some more hopefully) but considering the nonsense of last time, I'll let you guys decide if you like them''

what Andy, when you hyped up this 22 band announcement for almost 2 weeks - and then delivered what has to be the weakest mainstage undercard since god knows when?

Its been said before, on the whole, it will be a great weekend - there will be 3rd and 4th stage discoveries for me, but a couple of solid mid range bands would be nice.

and again, slash can lick my ballbag.

Andy Coppings Twitter:

"OK...the next Download announcement will be next Monday (12 April) at 6pm...21 bands confirmed so far, hopefully I'll get some more added."

He's downplaying this one after last times throw the dummy out of the pram responce from Musics most ridiculous fans.

Im thinking we'll finish off the second stage and get third stage headliners. Perhaps a few more main stage acts.

The midnight announcements are easily the worst thing about Download. Its ridiculous.

Whats wrong with a bit of cooperation. T in the Park announce through the day on twitter.

Reading/Leeds do it in an evening, Sonisphere do it whenever they can.

Midnight is ridiculous.

I guess its the sorry state of radio that they have to wait until midnight for a rock show.

And by doing it at midnight they are actually not announcing the bands on the day that they said! It's lies. All lies.

Hoping that earlier announcement means that there will be some juicy bits in that 21 somewhere cus at the moment I am having lots of hangover time planned!!!
