rexclark
Considering they just made the new flyer and its not going to get to all PR's until next week I won't be expecting one for at least another month. . . Nothing substantial anyway.
Poleski
I suppose, I was just thinking of the way it went last year, there were alot more acts announced by April, but they brought out the flyer about mid april and it had the majority of the line up on it. FannyBaws
I think that without a decent announcement pretty soon Rockness runs the risk of losing a lot of customers this year, it's reputation is nowhere near the kind of festivals where the majority of people will run out and buy tickets for without knowing any acts. They need to fatten out the line-up considerably to get people to part with their money imo.

FannyBaws
Jim King already said ticket sales were up something like 18% on last year.
Poleski
You're never going to hear a promoter say "oh no, ticket sales are going absolute pish, we really hope it picks up or this is going be be a pretty quiet year", are you? The very fact that he gave the increase in sales in % adds more weight to my thought, everybody knows Rockness doesn't sell out so who knows if the majority of sales in previous years have come closer to the time of the actual festival or not, meaning an increase in sales at this point isn't as good an indication as would be initially thought. This is all pure guessing and hypothetical thinking, I'm still going to be at Rockness no matter what and i'll be having a great time along with a good group of mates - I just know our group would have been much bigger had better announcements been made by now, and those people who might have come have decided on other festivals instead of Rockness due to the line-up. I don't even think the headliners are that great this year, I appreciate that Leftfield were big but they are not going to appeal to the vast majority of festival goers in the 18-24yr old bracket now are they? Fatboy Slim, third time in five years *yawn*. The Strokes, not my cup of tea at all and I understand they're big but I dunno... the headliners this year vs The Prodigy, Orbital & Basement Jaxx, I know which group of headliners I think has the biggest pulling power. Not to mention decent sized second headliners like Biffy Clyro, Dizze Rascal & the Flaming Lips. Like I said, i'll still be there having a great time but I just think they need to make a pretty decent announcement soon to ensure the people currently sitting on the fence make the right decision. I'm sure we all know a few fence sitters who could be swayed with a good announcement now, don't we?
Bigstevo
Not an act announcement but my girlfriend read that Howard Marks is gonna be serving pints at a bar in Rockness joined by Rhys Ifans. Howard Marks is a legend!!
StrethNESS
I think this year will indeed be the biggest yet and I actually like what they're doing with the announcements. Another one at the end of this month would be good, hopefully near payday. Already got my ticket but my bank accounts taken a savage slashing since 2ManyDjs pounded the Arches and I like to see bands play intimately before i actually drag my drunken ass from one place to another at Dores. Disco_Fudge
would be even better if Rhys Ifans did a set as "eyeball Paul" alongside "Frankie Wilde"

Bigstevo
haha am guessing this is a wind up but i love those guys so worth the chance... where did she read that?
RVM1989
Yahoo alerts for rockness, i think it was an article in a local paper, saying councilors are against a notorious ex drug smuggler appearing there. It sounds like he's running his own bar! Rockness organisers were however unavailable for comment.
Bigstevo
might not be an act announcement but it would defo be one of the best announcements haha.

gordong
In a way, I hope t in the park doesnt announce any massive slam headliners cause i want to see all three mainstage headliners so far, dont want to start having horrible clashes. For rockness aswell, Im pretty content with Saturdays line up now, maybe a few wee acts during the day though
blackg1000
Any ideas who? The Chemical Brothers are coming out of hibernation with a new album, so they may play T or Rockness... Edited March 17, 2010 by blackg1000
Kowalski
I doubt very much Chemicals will play, they're bigger than any of the main stage headline acts Rockness has so far.

blackg1000
They are neither bigger or better than Leftfield IMHO.
Piratebhoy
I agree with both things you say, what I meant to say was it's unlikely they will get announced because our headliners have been announced and they're pretty huge acts to be topped. If there is any other major dance act that could headline Rockness it would be the Chemicals and they would've been a huge addition.
zlatan07
i reckon T will get deadmau5 and maybye SMD (unless smd are snapped up by rockness)
