T in the park

Not sure what you are trying to say in your first sentence!?

TITP has rakes of neds and many probably do frequent this site, but so what there are idiots everywhere and in ALL forums. Why take away a facility that helped a lot of people get information because of a few idiots?

For the record i've only been on the T forum once this year so don't know how far downhill it has gone, but surely binning it completely is over the top?

Efestivals, (or is your name Neil?) I only have a few small points to make.

This is your site - you may do whatever you want on it. I am not doubting that, or attempting to tell you otherwise.

What I want to know is why (A) The T in the Park forum was removed without any annoucnement from yourself, explaining your reasoning, and (B ) Despite reciving many requests to explain the reasoning on this thread - you mearly allowed yourself to get involved and a tit-for-tat with Indiebager, and look for any excuse for cheap 'pointscoring' threads to hoist yourself above all posters on this site - whilst ignoring anyone looking for your reasons in removing the thread.

I don't post much - but I read quite regularly, and there are (were?) a large number of decent posters on the TITP forum, you have let the them down twice.

Firstly as moderator it is your job to ensure that the site is run without idoits spoiling it for everyone, ban the idoits and ban their IP's. If they form a new account ban that aswell. The moderator is there to ensure the forum doesnt collapse into the mess we've had in the last weeks, by merging similar threads (wheres everyone playing etc) and locking/deleting threads thats have either (A) Concluded, where the OP asks a question and recieves and answer - therefore no further discussion needed, or ( B ) stray so far off topic they will not return to topic, or ( C) Which bear false information (such as the JayZ school rumour thread.)

Secondly they were let down on this thread, when you had ample time to explain this situation in full, explain why it must be shut down, tell us if/when it will reopen, and if it does, what to do to ensure this doesn't happen again. Instead you lowered yourself to the whining schoolboy with quips such as "eFestivals has, for the first time ever, got on his knees and prayed that your new home makes you happy enough to stay just there" and " f**k off from these forums."

Well a few years ago Mr Efests had to fork out to protect his site and some of its users from a libel case, the problem occurred on the T forum. This hasn't happened for any forum(don't think, correct me if I am wrong)so what I am saying is T had it's own forum, which is now gone. efestivals had a T forum, which is now gone. See a pattern here?

Yeah but it was never explained to anyone what comments were made on the forum to prompt this libel case (if it existed). Surely if Mr efestivals wanted to protect his site from further lawsuits he would explain the type of comments which are or are not tolerated! It was all very vague and still is and I can't help but think there was another agenda aimed at T in the Park posters, afterall he has never really hidden his dislike for the festival or people who attend......or I might just like a good conspiracy theory!

Must admit I'm slightly taken aback by the so called moderators responses, petty & childish spring to mind also I think there is deffo an anti scots vibe on the go because you can bet your nelly if the same "idiotic" posts were found on the glasto forum you wouldn't see that getting removed. As people have said theres idiots in all walks of life & now especially on the t'internet forums.......there wouldn't be any forums at all if we followed old neily boys 'moderation'...... :P

From Wiki

"libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. It is usually, but not always,[1] a requirement that this claim be false and that the publication is communicated to someone other than the person defamed (the claimant)."

The T in the park forum was a mess anyway.

Most of the people either putting it down or people talking crap. There were a few people who stuck up good posts.

I would rather it was up and running, but I've not checked it half as much this year as I have in previous years.

I don't normally side with the authorities, but a good point has been made, the official TITP site was removed now this one. Maybe if people were picked to moderate the TITP forum, this would save Neil Efestivals from moderating it. Perhaps people can put themselves forward.

I don't think moving to another website will be the same as this one.

Perhaps giving people a timescale of when it will be back? Or if certain criteria has to be met first? Perhaps you can stick some kind of disclaimer on the TITP forum?

But I have searched through various other forums (on efests) and you don't find half the shit posted in those forums as you do in TITP forum, there is still shit, just not in the same abundance.

i think neil did the right thing in removing the T forum. some of the folk in there seemed completely retarded. it was just the same people posting the same site over and over.. if those people starting posting in other areas of the site it would drive me, and probably others away from here cause it has become a lot less enjoyable reading these forums recently cause of some people.

Firstly, Mr eFestivals is absolutely correct - access to any site (regardless of whether they make money from it) is a privilege. Any service is a priviliege, or certainly, any free service.

Even when paying for a service, you should still feel privilieged that it is available. Think fibre-optic broadband, or gas central heating. Areas which dont have those facilities would certainly feel privileged at such time as those services become available. The fact you've had THIS service for so long as to take it for granted, does not negate the fact it is a privilege.

Secondly, and I'd like very much to join the masses saying that Mr eFestivals has somehow done this through spite and is ruining everyone's life (bit dramatic, i know) but it's HIS to do as he pleases with.

My first TITP, I visited this forum and got a pre-event knowledge that served me greatly. At this point, people were helpful, there were no (or only a few) little cliques that constantly rounded on everyone, and made people feel small for asking questions which they, the respondents, felt were stupid. Now, on the other hand, you've a select few who seem to spend their entire evenings just looking to point out other people's lack of knowledge on things in order, I would assume, to make themselves look/feel clever and superior.

Anyone who read my response to people's posts following the "rumour" (a particularly ill-founded one, I concede) regarding Jigh-Zed, posted by Sean_thorburn or similar, would've noted my frustration at that time. He said he heard it in school, yet these parasites who've facilitated the degeneration of the TITP forum couldn't even take the info (of his attendance at school) and equate to an inherent level of naivety, and cut the boy some slack.

If this IS the reason the forum has been pulled, then "well done" (please note - sarcasm, to anyone who thinks I'm applauding their performance) and hope you enjoy peeing in the dark, or wherever you end up.

I hope the forum does return, but lets hope the lack of a forum makes people appreciate it more if/when it re-appears.

Frustration = vented! :P

The End.

So this is what this is about, some school boy got a slagging for saying Jay Z had canceled?

doesn't make it anymore realistic If I say he cancelled and I heard it in the office?

what if the School boy's dad done fag runs to spain and was getting ellis ciggie's on the cheap?Say Ellis told this boy's father, who then in turn said, he buys the fags from enrico inglazes (I don't know how to spell it) next door neibours, nephew's mail man and he said he could get him instead?

Is this the drivel the titp forum was shut down for? What a shame for those who actually used the forum constructively. :P
