scottt
basically made it to try and get a sense of how it will look and who could play where and when not to make people think its real. But yeah got a few things wrong, think all bands could appear tho apart from the ones at V. and if g+r and libertines do not headline it should be Gorillaz and Arcade Fire, even if AF are very weak as headliner
kev1664
A few things have been on my mind since this topic started. I won't rule rule out the efestivals prediction of Blink, AF, MCR rumour. Nor will I rule out Keese46's of Blink, Libertines, GnR. I wouldn't be surprised if any of those to happened. All I can say on the subject is that I lean towards e-festivals predictions. They have never let me down in the past and there information always gets to people the earliest. I don't dis-believe Keese46, just the information as weighed up by me and the way I have read his past posts gives me less confidence in his prediction, I know he got the 08 line-up spot on but in 08 efestivals had already released this information as TBC for Metallica Rage & the Killers, and that he got muse and the verve right for V(this I know less about). To me that could mean 1 of these things. 1. Keese46 either did not know that efestivals had already TBC the headliners in 08, and that is why he had posted a new topic with it on as he was excited by the news, and therefore he is probably telling the truth for this year. 2.Keese46 source gave him data from a different source in 08 and he posted a new topic on here. (That source happened to be right that year). However the same source has a different source to efestivals and from what they are hearing this years headliners are Libs GnR and Blink. In this situation One of Efests or Keese46 would be wrong. 3. Someone had told him the information from what they had read on efests in 08, but they didnt quote efests for this year and quoted someone else, because of this he decided to post the new topic. Meaning he could be wrong this year if a different source has been used. 4. Keese46 had already read the efestivals TBC in 08 and decided to post a new topic with the headliners on, to make himself look believable in the future for another eventuality (such as the situation we are faced with now.) As if he were trying to catch out efestivals, like other sites have been caught out before. Where he could just be making it up. Making it a lie for this year. 5. Keese46 wight just be bareface lying for this year. After all we have one underlying missing piece of information (unless I have mis-read his posts, causing all of the above to be utter bullshit) and that information was why didn't he tell us 09 headliner? (for this I can understand there could be many reasons) If we had have had this information then it would make him a tad more believeable. Also the timing of his releases have never been before efestivals, so this also make me doubt him. Keese46 I am not claiming that any of these are true and I have no agenda against you, this are just how I am percieving it and just wanted to put this in there to gauge peoples opinions on the matter Edited March 20, 2010 by kev1664

Shanndy
At least two posters (funkymp and alastairw_smith) gave the correct 2008 headliners way before keese46.

kev1664
do you really think this has been part of his 2 year mastermind plan to inform a forum of the incorrect headliners to a festival less than two weeks before we will find out? Hart Attack
My theory is that his source misheard or misunderstood regarding Libertines, and that they will actually be playing next year as Neil suggested.
keese46
Wow i have just read that epic post above and i found it quite funny. I even had someone facebook me trying to get stuff out of me. I couldnt give a toss what everyone else thinks because i know who is playing and it makes no difference to me if people dont believe me. Just wait till the announcement date. Yes indeed it was a masterplan to fool you all because i am really that sad and pathetic. Get a grip people

JAnderson
In all fairness to Kesse I read the thread where he called V's headliners in 08. After reading the thread it seems Neil had Coldplay and The Verve down and Muse had been removed as a rumour. Kesse said Coldplay pulled to do a tour and Muse were now playing. Muse were reinstated as a rumour and were later subsequently confirmed alongside the Verve. /index.php?showtopic=91940&st=20">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.p...91940&st=20 Here is the thread, if you read to the second page Muse were reinstated as a rumour due to what Kesse had said. This is what makes me believe him. Edited March 20, 2010 by JAnderson

thomasowen
You would have to be a bit messed up to lie like this, so I am inclined to belive this guy, but then again there is no proof to suggest he is right, he did get the headliners right in the past but only after two other people had claimed it was The Killers, Rage and Metallica. Louise2208
I'm inclined to think that if The Libertines have indeed been brought forward to 2010 then they will co headline with Arcade Fire. The reason being the 'masses' aren't as familiar with AF. The Libertines reunion would be a big pull. I saw The Libertines in 03 and 04 and I was majorly disappointed, I thought their performances were messy... BUT I have gotten in to their music again recently so out of curiosity i'd watch them again but the idea of them being a headliner fills me with dread a little and I count myself as a fan. I'd feel really let down if the performance was a shambles, I dont think you can take risks with headliners, and if they have projects going on outside of The Libertines then I would be very surprised if the performance was a truly mindblowing headliner performance. We shall see who is playing a week on Monday. I'm bursting to find out!!!

Rock_and/or_Roll
If The Libs do headline i will be majorly dissapointed. They are a DREADFUL band who in no way deserve a headline slot. Even in their prime they wouldn't have deserved it so why should they get it now? Porcelina
They've become a massive cult band in a similar vein to The Smiths though. Co-headlining with Arcade Fire would be an indie boy's wet dream.
JAnderson
They last played before their second album was released (a day later) and minus Pete. They were falling apart before the album was even released. The album was released to rave reviews and went straight to number one. Had the band still been going strong I have no doubt they would've headlined a festival by now on the strength of that second album. To say they weren't good enough to headline at their most popular is silly because they were as good as finished before they were at their most popular. Having them reform and play R/L would be huge for the festival. Edited March 20, 2010 by JAnderson
