The only thing I question about the Libertines is if they were playing, why would Carl be concentrating more on his solo stuff and Pete doing whatever the hell he does (mostly drugs) and not at least playing together. It's annoying that they can suddenly headline with just 2 albums and when they couldn't even headline when they were at their peak :/

They do have a couple of good songs but that's it really. I'd consider watching someone else if they do play

Am I the only person who doesn't fancy seeing a middle aged GnR without the line up they became famous with, I think it'll just sound like a really similar tribute band, it's just Axl & friends. Slash were to turn up though that would make for a good weekend if AF & the Libertines were both playing at some point aswell.

I just wonder if seeing them now would ruin my idea of what seeing them live wouldve been back at their peak, but that's probably just me being sentimental and if they play I'll no doubt be there me even pondering this is needless.

And about this big pop-punk debate, I always thought of punk to be a big f-off to 'the man' whereas the emo lovesongs made by paramore, ymas etc - however catchy - are anything but that, but that's just my take on things.

In regards to the GnRs fears.

Their 2010 tour has got RAVE reviews. I haven't seen them before but apparently they're LOADS better than they were with the original line up.

Axl seems all clean and fresh and full of energy and has been working on his vocals and sounds amazing.

Apparently the new guitarists have been nailing all the solos and sound fantastic.

The full line up might not be there but from what i've heard it's a lot of fun and the band have been drinking less and working more on technical expertise and three hour epic sets.

Watch some vids on youtube guarantee it'll change your opinion. Sound 10x better than they did years ago.

Not great quality but:
