Bars/Tokens/Queues

The last couple of years haven't been so bad getting tokens. The first year I was there I queued for ages... But it's trying to actually buy a drink that frustrates me!

Even when the bands are playing, there just seems to be constant queues!!! Tokens should surely make the process of buying a pint MUCH quicker but it is so badly setup, you end up queueing and getting squashed! And then you have to push past everyone behind you with your drinks to get back out so you spill them..

Reading has cash bars, but I didn't have to queue for a drink once last year! They had zig-zag type queueing, which by the time you walk round it you are ready to be served. This system works so much better so why don't V introduce a similar thing?

The whole V experience last year seemed to involve queueing though, getting between stages etc was a nightmare... as if they had sold far to many tickets.. surely not?

You need to find the quieter bars, after years of going to V I know where to go to get servered straight away, but I ain't posting it up!

I don't remember queueing alot at all last year, maybe towards the end of the day near the 4 music stage. Infact the longest time i spent queueing was waiting to collect my tickets from the see ticket guys on arrival and at the Dominos pizza stand.....About 20mins for a dam pizza..Shocking!

I do think there could be a better system at the bar though as your right it does get a little cramped around the bars at times but mostly with people waiting for their friends to get the drinks.

i agree that at reading/leeds theres no token system and its generally quicker to get served than at V.

V use tokens to stop casual bar staff from legging it with a wad of the takings. Staff get disillusioned so work slower.

Reading accept that staff might pocket a few £, so staff stick a fe quid in their pockets and are happy, therefore work faster.

Strangely I've never had problems with getting served either- we buy a good whack of tokens when we get there and if we run out we use the cash bars. Never really had to wait. Like Luckysalt says there are some bars which are nearly always quiet and we just use them. My smuggling system did work a treat last year though so that saved us a small fortune and time anyway.
