Reading or Leeds?

I would definately say I much prefer Leeds, like has already been said, I like being out in thge middle of nowhere rather than be in the middle of a city centre.

Also from what I've been hearing, the trouble at Reading is getting wprse whereas at Leeds it's definately not half as bad as it was.

You also get a few extra bands on the Thurday night at Leeds, last year it was Blood Red Shoes and in 08 it was Pigeon Detectives. I don't know if Reading gets any extra bands.

haha nah they were really nice. gave us soup and tinned fruit n let us use their gazeebo

but on sat morning we got woken up at 8am and our tent got searched and the people we were camping with got taken away. but we got their tent full of booze!

but the moral of the story is... even though i met some crazy people they were all very nice haha

Leeds has been going downhill the past few years anyway. Once upon a time it was the place to be if you were into Alternative Rock, now it's just a place for Skins/Hollyoaks wannabes to go and pose, and "get f**king wasted maaaaan!", the sort of people who only see the bands that they hear most people talking about seeing. I still have nightmares about the crowd for RATM. :P

I still have a great time at Leeds, don't get me wrong, the only real bad experiences I've had at Leeds were a security guard on a power trip at the gate one year, and a Mancunian pikey trying to break into my tent whilst sleeping, who couldn't be described as "trendy". :P

But it's undeniable how the festival has gone a bit mainstream. Five years ago at school none of the "cool kids" cared too much about going to Leeds fest, and there was only a select few who actually went, now everyone seems to go because it's the in thing.
