Evening folks,

I've been offered a bed at a relatives house near the hospital in Reading (about 2 miles away from the Festival), anyone had any experiences of walking this distance after the music stops? Are taxi's a viable option? Only planning on going on the Saturday and Sunday, so camping ain't doable.

Thanks!

I used to live in Reading for a few years and can tell you it's easy to get around. In 2008 I was only able to get 3 day tickets and found it really easy to get out after the music stopped. The train station (city centre) is only about a 20 minute walk from the site, and is really easy to navigate as it's pretty much just one road to follow as well as a big crowd of people going the same way so you shouldn't get lost. There is always quite a few taxi's around the train station, but saying that it's not that far to walk from there to the hospital, probably another 10 minutes or so if that.

Hope this helps

Seeing as the hospital is just after the town centre, thats probably a 15-20min walk (depending on your walking pace) once you get out of the festival site.

I shall be doing pretty much the same sort of walk myself, into the town centre to get a bus home.

There will be plenty of taxis on the road next to rivermead to take you there if you don't fancy walking, but there will bump up their prices for that weekend I should think.
