Libs will most probably headline NME stage if they do get a headliner slot. Can't see them pulling a main stage crowd in. Saturday should be massive, however i am unexcited if it GnR, AF or Blink. Oasis shock return lmao....

they won't have an indie NME headliner the same day as the indie Main Stage headliners

no doubt they'll have a heavy band on the NME that day to appease non-indie fans

and The Maccabees couldn't compete with The Libs at all. there'd be nobody there!

I'm gonna throw this out there.

Green Day's American tour dates show that they have no gigs planned for the weekend of reading and leeds. NME said you'll never guess who's back. Green Day have headlined before, which support the "who are BACK to headline'. The reason you would never guess would be because they are so distanced from rumours recently for no apparent reason. Blink 182 and Paramore are TBC. Both seem uncapable acts in terms of a headline slot, it would appear lacking as i don't feel there has been a huge demand in England for there comeback so far.

I wouldn't be surprised to see:

GREEN DAY

Blink 182

Paramore

for one of the nights.

This could be aided by the fact that Paramore are supporting Green Day on a few European dates a month before on their stadium tour.

All fits logically into place.

Great announcement, Thank you both for keeping me excited over the last few months both Neil and Keese.

I'm pretty happy with all the bands, I like a lot of their songs, but i'm happy with Blink headlining.

Do you know any information on the NME headliners too?

I'm definately happy about Blink :P

also the libs being special guests sounds perfect, especially with pete's legal situation atm

And the idea of Arcade fire headlinings actually grown on me

I reckon they might pull a decent size crowd, plenty would be just out of interest and they could make some new fans

Should get rid of some of the annoying twats at the festival

GnR though?

Shockingly bad in 06

They're like a designer band

If everything was the same other than Axl wasn't allowed to keep the name, they wouldn't stand a chance of headlining

I'm happy with this set of headliners.

Guns N' Roses, no they may not have Slash or Duff any more, but they still play the classics (well, whoever is with Axl this week!) and watching recent videos live of them, they look superb! Presumably they'll get two hours for their set (possibly to accomodate for Axl's, ahem, "punctuality") then that's two hours of great singalongs.

Never was a massive fan of Blink 182 but I think they deserve to headline and they seem to be decent live, worth a watch anyway. I'm sure they'll get a great crowd, just hoping that QOTSA will be on NME at the same time but otherwise, why not? As long as I have earplugs for when Tom DonkeyLong starts singing!

Arcade Fire are a bit of an odd choice but they were great at Leeds in 2007 and, presuming they're Leeds Sunday, will be a fantastic way to end the weekend. They'll put on a better show than KOL, The Killers and RHCP did. Although I missed most The Killers for the Manics, who I doubt AF will top. :P But they seemed shite.
