FloorFiller
i personaly think they'll be under Guns 'N Roses (as weird as that may be for some people, but they're both quite theatrical rock bands so it makes sense)
lacney
Just throwing it out there, maybe they will do the tent the same night as Arcade Fire headline? Seems a bit too much but i reckon that they will suit it more
tommysean
hopefully they clash with a decent band so i don't end up watching them while waiting for GnR to come on; they seem too likely too take the subheadline slot
Dirty Boots
Under GnR on the Sunday at Reading, guaranteed.

FloorFiller
it won't be hardcore Guns N Roses fans though - it'll be people at Leeds and Reading who happen to like Guns N Roses it won't be like MCR opening for GnR at their own concert or anything. i think they'll go down very well (probably get a few bottles thrown at them to begin with but that'll soon wear off) MCR opening for GnRs makes total sense - both big theatrical rock bands

Redd114
If my chem' play i will actually bomb reading festival for this year, and all years to come. They do not deserve any spot on any stage ever. Amen.
gr4h4m
as has been said they'll play before the tribute band, perfect really though? two horrible bands to finish the festival

Leocadius
Seconded. What a child. tut tut. MCR & GnR would be a good mix of past and present I feel. I just hope Axl brings his A-Game and doesn't walk off.

kathleenwithak
concidering they've alrerady played 3 times 2006 2005 and another (when they were really low down) you should of bombed them a long time ago. concidering the 2005 and 2006 (particulary 2005) are said to be very good and this is a band with a history of playing very good live shows. i think they deserve a spot on a stage. i appreciate the hatred for my chemical romance, having a lot of very annoying fans, but that shouldnt stop them for having a spot. you've also got to rember that most of those fans have matured now. lots of 13-16 year olds have these phazes were there absessed with a band. for example a coule of my friends younger sisters are obssed with paramore at the moment. the phaze's pass. personally i think they'd be best in the NME tent while liberteens/arcadefire were on. or a sub headliner under blink or GNR were on. theres going to be bottling if they subheadline but to be honest i think if they can win the crowed over your looking at a reading highlight. paulos316
MCR imo wouldnt be up there as far as headliners go but think they'll put on a good show, Really liked what i seen last time i saw em, I imagine they'll be very excited about the prospect of being bottled an having to win a crowd over again too as they really seemed to enjoy it last time ! Leocadius
I think it depends who they Sub headline to. If they sub Blink or Arcade Fire they'll be alright.

King101
I know they seem nailed on to sub for GNR right now but im thinking they wont be playing. Last summer, around the time of the infamous twitter posts, they headlined Summer Sonic in Japan and played a few low-key home town shows, debuting new material and promising the album would be out Sping 2010. A few months later they were announced to be headlining Soundwave festival in Australia with FNM in January this year. Then they ended up pulling out of the Soundwave festival due to Gerard having issues with his throat, then they lost their drummer and recent website posts say they're still in the studio writing new songs. Id guess they were probably pencilled in for Reading last summer but have pulled out knowing their album wont be done when they expected it to be. It definitely seems that there has been some major line-up changes pretty recently and this would be a big reason why. It would also explain why they were such an early favourite to play but there has been no news of them since all the information started leaking recently. rexclark
Surely that set will go down badly with Guns N Roses fans? But I do agree with you about them being placed there, just rather they weren't.
FloorFiller
Reading and Leeds won't be full of your average angry metal loving Guns N Roses fans (hell, i think most of them gave up during the 14 year wait for Chinese Democracy) it'll be more casual listeners (bar a few of course) and i thinK MCR will go down extremely well as all the hate for them has lowered a lot these days (only a few idiots still hold the grudge)
