It doesn't really effect me though, I can manage without The Libertines, GnR at the moment seems like a massive tribute band to me, and I despise courtney anyway so I think I will manage

Have Hole even got a big following?

Cannot imagine the majority of like 16-21 year olds (which is a very high percentage of R+L goers) will know too much about them other than its the crazy bird who went out with Kurt Cobains band.

i'm a little confused as to how highly regarded Hole are, never struck me as that popular, and certainly not with the current R&L audience.

hit the nail on the head, i've never heard a single one of their songs i don't think, only know of them because of courtney and kurt. i hope they don't headline NME, need a decent band to clash with arcade fire so i have someone to watch saturday night. not saying hole aren't decent, but y'know...

No FNM fans actually bought tickets to see them play the tent. They were announced very late. This explains the lack of crowd. Very simple.

I can't see that many Hole fans on the phone at 7:30 on Monday just in case they're announced either though, they're just not a band who will draw a big crowd at Reading against another big act on the mainstage.

People will deffo go and see Courtney Love on the mainstage if she's up against some mid-level band in the Tent at 5pm or so

Surely Hole's heighday was 1994/1995? I think it's fair to say most people up to the age of 25, maybe even 30 won't be familiar with most of their stuff.

yeah but you are assuming things that aren't fact. You are assuing most people don't know Hole, or the people who would want to see them woudln't go to Reading. But how do you actually know this?

Plus i was listening to Hole when i was like 13.

I'm pretty sure after turning up an hor late last time he played Leeds, Axl will be on his best behaviour, I'd be surprised if the organisers haven't got stipulations in the contract about behaviour.
