Reading/Leeds headliners confirmed? Paul, 24th Mar 2010 @ 11:25PM

Efestivals are '99% confident' that Guns and Roses, Arcade Fire and Blink 182 will headline Reading/Leeds Festivals. The Libertines are apparently 'special guests'.

EDIT - Punktastic has been told Arcade Fire are headlining the NME Tent.

I love The Libertines and I'm delighted that they'll most probably be playing. I very much doubt they'll headline ahead of Arcade Fire though, I just can't see it.

Regardless of if they headline or not, The Libertines will be quality.

Having a large catalogue of songs and 5-6+ albums means nothing as far as I'm concerned. A lot these songs will simply be album fillers. The Libs and Arcade Fire may both only have 2 albums each, but they are both full albums of great songs and haven't had chance to see either yet I would gladly watch them play both albums from start to end as I think they both have 20 absolutely brilliant song each. Much rather this than a few hits surrounded by rubbish (as I feel I the case with Blink)

No doubt about it, Arcade Fire deserve to headline the festival.

Just because they aren't 'mainstream big' doesn't mean they can't pull it off.

This is coming from someone who loves The Libertines, but it's gonna be dissapointing watching half the crowd leave after their set, i'll be taking advantage in getting as close as i can for AF.

Also despite Pete's unreliable nature, there's no chance of him missing this pay day.

I believe he pointed at an inflatable penis and said "look, there's Pete Doherty". I love Peter, but I did laugh, Noel's a funny guy.

Seen Shambles/Peter about 40 times.. only no-shows were in the early days. They have great management behind them now, Peter has shook free of most of the scumbags and hangers-on around him. He looks terrific, has settled down in the countryside, and is a good dad.

I understand how people feel towards him. But he's changed. Babyshambles are a formidable force, and the new material is very Stone Roses! More importantly though, it's terrific.
