in terms of peak chart positions they are both in a similar situations. Their latest albums did a tad worse but the majority have been very successful. However, in terms of tours LP don'#t do huge ones and QOTSA do farely decent ones. Plus Homme and co are still very much in the public eye with TCV, so they would gained fans via that act i would assume. Plus QOTSA very much ARE Reading in many cases, they love it and the fans love them. QOTSA in terms of Reading are far more popular IMO. Kinnda similar in size though, but it wouldn't surprise me to see LP slowly creep away in terms of popularity.

I agree! It was so packed it was crazy a tent idea would be suicide!! You can't second headline rage then headline a tent with someone like queens far too big would actualy be dangerous I feel honestly

Too big. FNM were booked for R/L and then pulled out or negotiations broke down. FR probably offered them a mainstage slot and they blatently kicked up a stink and got the tent headline slot. I've been to Reading four times now and pay a lot of interest to the festival in general, but, I am no expert nor do I have links. Common sense and experience however, tell me its unlikely a band of QOTSA's stature will headline the tent. Just look at the bands that have headlined in recent years. Do the like's of QOTSA or Arcade Fire follow the pattern?

As for tcv putting some more in the public eye, I think they havent really had much public attention and when they have grohl got all the attention. Hey when I saw them at leeds, the crowd gave the impression they didn give a crap about the other.

Also with QOTSA and Foo's being back hopefully that meansno more TCV ever or at least for a long while. Hopefully Josh will concentrate on Queens and nothing much else except a Kyuss reunion

The reason why it was so packed for Queens was that everyone was there to get a good spot for Rage, they will easily headline the tent with no worries / problems concerning safety etc...Queens was just a bonus for everyone that wanted to see Rage

If the main stage headliners were arcade fire, blink and gnr they would pack out the tent more than lostprophets imo they are too big methinks

QOTSA in the tent ... lol.
