JBarbour
From the recent focus group with FR Will more be done to prevent See Tickets from crashing when they do go on sale? Yes, talks will be had with See Tickets to make the process easier, and also to ensure tickets are sent out earlier this year.
ar1
As a word of warning (as it nearly cost me a V ticket a couple of years back) ticketmaster certainly used to kick you off if you had more than one window open on the same pc trying to access the ticketmast site. It did it to when I'd reached the payments page! luckily I started again at the begining and got my tickets fine.
evilduck
Thats because Ticketmaster have a genuine queueing system that allocates you a place in the queue as you try to get in. This won't be a problem with seetickets as their queue is just a holding page that automatically refreshes every 30 secs. You can have as many tabs open as you want and refresh as often as you like. KingOfTheRodeo
The link that someone posted on here last year was a god send, made sure me and alot of other people got tickets when it was looking like we wouldn't. Is the one with the 's' in the http similar to that one? ( takes you straight to the order form). Me and my brother are back from uni so we should have at least 3 laptops in my house so gonna make use of all of them
DaveElNino
The link you want is the one that takes directly to the order form where you say what you want. That's usually place dup within a few minutes of the tickets being released (if not earlier if someone's managed to get hold of it). In previous years putting https would let you in quicker as users with the https protocol were given priority (this was to ensure that payments went through). At some point since then - I don't know when exactly, but the first major event that I remember it being used for was The Rage Factor - they changed their system and now give everyone a holding page, and if you refresh that when there's space on the server you can get access to the tickets page. PurpleFire
Basicly, if we use SeeTickets with the https are we secure and are the tickets genuine? Thats what i want to know And what sites are genuine? Ticketmaster and which others?
DaveElNino
SeeTickets, Ticketmaster, Ticketline, Gigantic, hmv and Stargreen are all legitimate ticket websites, though until the official Reading site's updated I don't know which'll be selling tickets. The https for SeeTickets is genuine, but is unlikely to get you tickets any quicker due to the changes to their system this year. mjsell
unrelated but news nonetheless - Reading website (and im guessing leeds too) is "down for maintenance" atm. All I can say is about bloody time.
kopite_mark
Does ticketmaster kick you off if you have it open on say 3 different machines. Cos im sure they track the ip address
JBarbour
Yeah ticketmaster use ip's to track uses. Ticketmaster boot if you refresh too many times or open a lot of tabs. I think if you refresh too many times it sends you to a page saying you can try again in 5 mins if I remember correctly
hannah1991
This might be a stupid question, but if ticketmaster assigns a place in the queue, is there any point refreshing, is it better just to wait until you get through?

Superficial ant
Well thanks for all the tips and info guys appreciate big time! Iam a bit worried I will not get through main reason being one o tried to get v weekend tickets the other week for my gf and failed misserably!! Two last time I bought Reading tickets was in 05 lol and was no que system then I promise you every other time I've been since then I've bought of a very generous friend! Plus I know this is getting harder and harder every year and selling out quicker every year also. There's no way I'm missing this year though I couldent even get past the loading/refreshing screen for two hours last year and eventually sold out by time i did! Was not happy to say the very least so all this help and advice is very VERY much appreciated just wish I'd joined these forums a long time ago!!! hannah1991
correct me if i'm wrong but it doesn't just pop up saying 'you're through' you have to refresh to get through or you'd be just stuck on the page saying the site is down or whatever

TomDB
For those asking about Ticketmaster, here's a brief guide: 1. Ticketmaster is an official ticket outlet, your tickets are 100% real 2. All tickets issued by Ticketmaster fall under a full money back guarantee 3. The Ticketmaster system works on a queuing basis, not a random issuing 4. It is possible Ticketmaster may reject your order if you have more than one window open 5. The above post applies to windows open on one IP address, not computer 6. Ticketmaster will tell you how much time is left before the estimate you will reach payment page 7. Your queuing will not crash, rather you will just get a constant ticket telling you how much time is left 8. Unlike SeeTickets, Ticketmaster will not give you a page asking you to refresh 9. It is recommended you do not refresh the queuing page on Ticketmaster, like you would on SeeTickets 10. Ticketmaster will make it very clear when they sell out, you will not be queuing if no tickets are left Hope that helps, if anyone has questions on SeeTickets, i can answer them too
kopite_mark
well, when you buy tickets from ticket master, you select the postage and so on and then you get a screen that says your waiting time is X minutes. i've never bought high demand tickets though so i don't know how if it just counts down out what...
