Libertines are famous for a druggy lead singer.

Guns N' Roses may as well be a tribute band.

Arcade fire are no bodies who are just getting bigged up because they're amazing live.

Paramore and Blink are worthy of me buying a day ticket at most. but come on i was expecting this to be festival of the year and now all we need on the lineup is Robbie Williams and Busted to make it the comeback kings festival. Lets have some big names announced monday instead of this poor rumours.

not everyone agrees they're amazing live. last years sub headliners are bigger than the rumoured headliners these days.. prodigy, kaiser chiefs, and bloc party. compared to the crap ive been shown this year. actually is pathetic

Why don't you just listen to Arcade Fire?

Everyone who knows anything about music will tell you that Funeral was probably the best indie rock record of the decade. Who cares that they're not big, no one will be let down after seeing a band that good headline.

People just seem to take a dig at L/R and FR at any angle now.

They have taken a risk and booked some very sought after bands, who are all UK exclusives, and people havent had a chance to see them in the past 5 years (the case with Blink and The Libs)

I'd much rather have this that KOL or Arctic Monkeys or Muse who i have had the chance to see so many times that ive lost count.

If Glastonbury had booked this years R/L headliners everybody would probably be loving it.

If Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones and The Clash were booked then people would still probably moan.

True. But that's only because so many numpties still haven't grasped that it's nowt more than 20 years worth of landfill indie recycled and distilled into one record.

if MCR sub to Guns N Roses, then the combination of MCR, Paramore and The Libertines equals some of the best sub headliners we've had since 07

combined with the three headliners, i shall definitely not be leaving the Main Stage from 8.00 onwards on all three nights

i don't see how anybody can argue about the sheer quality of the bands this year. it absolutely thwarts last year, which imo, seemed very bland and uninspired

I'd never argue that it was originally influential. I'd also never argue that it was better. Funeral was my album of the past decade (and currently #1 of all time).

I didnt mean if Glasto booked them as headliners, just that they booked them to play.

As we know, R/L and in fact no other UK festival comes anywhere near Glasto in terms of lineup and overall experience, but this years headliners i feel are at least a step in the right direction.
