westwardhoboy
Just heard on Radio 1 6.30 entertainment news that there is a good possibility of Blur performing together again this summer. Blurs management have said - Quote " Dont rule Blur out of playing a couple of festivals in the summer, there are a few big suprises in store" Do you reckon possible? Could this be what EA refers to as a big act out of the blue?? God I hope so, missed the set last year as kids were knackered. 1st Glastonbury and was a little concerned about getting out late. Biggest musical regret of my life!!! God this would make my year!
Kyelo
If they do, they won't be headlining. Doubt they will be there though.
strummer77
Be suprised. Seems like there's a lot lined up with the Gorillaz this summer.
Phil-itfc
I highly doubt it. would love it tho
Messy
Might do Reading/Leeds or something. Glasto's a near impossibility, I reckon.

Craigston
Can't see it. They could never top what they have said was their 'best gig ever'. If by some miracle they did agree to it I would go and see them. I was in tears watching them on the beeb the other night. The memories of 'tender' and 'the universal' were so moving. One of the best performances I've seen.
rexclark
I really hope I get the chance to see them this year at some point.
jimmyt
the actual story said their manager had refused to rule out doign a couple of festivals, then he said fans could be in for "a surprise". Abslutely nothing to go on and probably just their manager keeping himself important I think. I'm not saying they won't do anything but it's not going to be announced if they do, I'm betting. On another note, I don't subscribe to the "It was their best gig ever last year so why play again" theory. I'd be surprised if Faithless have ever had a better gig (from their perspective) than 2002, yet we think they'll play. I'm sure Elbow will play again yet lots of people regard their 2008 set as the best they've ever seen so I assume they rated as well. If I'd played my best ever gig at Glastonbury you're damn right I'd want to play there again. And if I was Blur, I'd want to open the Park stage as a special treat for Emily. Tim2006
Blur were defintely the highlight for me last year but I'm secretly (and probably in vain) keeping my fingers crossed that it has tempted Jarvis and Co to have a chat with themselves and bring Pulp back this year...I cannot imagine a time where I don't see Pulp play live at Glastonbury again...at some point...in the very near future...ever...please

Beaver89
I really don't think they would do Glasto again. If you think about Damon's (albeit drunken) interview at the NME Awards regarding Gorillaz he said he wouldn't want to do Glastonbury again because he had set himself a very high benchmark and wouldn't want to ruin it. Yea he was referring to Gorillaz but coming back with the same band would be even more pressure. Sadly for those who weren't there I think it was literally once in a lifetime. I consider myself very lucky indeed! Edit: By this I mean at Glasto - they may well play elsewhere but how they could top G n Hyde Park last year I haven't a clue! adjwholovesmusic
I personally dont think this is the end of Blur. I wold be very suprised if they were to play any part in Glastonbury this year but i honestly feel there will be some new music in the future. I think Damon Albarn was commited to the Gorillaz this summer so get that out of the way and then move onto the next project which i think will be a new record. In my opinion as a group of people they have worked out a balance and i think this comes across in film, that will allow themselves the space to do their own stuff whilst dipping back into Blur whenever they feel they want to. There is absolutely no pressure on them now, so by playing the whole thing down and not making any promises and building expectations they can do it when they are ready. Damon is very proud of Blur and all the things they have achieved and done together. You could tell this from the emotion and reaction he showed at the Glastonbury gig, which is the best gig i have ever been to. It meant an awful lot to him and the other members to be on that stage together and there is no way they will ever let that go!!! adjwholovesmusic
