I think he did.

Not trying to diss Neil or anything but he was sure AF were headlining and now it looks as if they won't. He didn't mention GnR and since Keese mentioned them he has jumped on the bandwagon and said he is 99.9% sure they're headlining when originally he thought it was MCR.

At the end of the day everyone knew Blink were going to headline and 2 weeks ago we all thought AF and MCR were shoe ins because Neil had said so. Now it looked like his sources were a load of rubbish and that Libs and GnR will headline, one of whom "definatly" wernt playing this year.

From what I am reading it will be Blink/Libs/GnR as headliners like Keese said all along. The guy from KIGH is deffo going to be in the know of who is playing where and when so I can see AF headlining NME despite the fact "everyone" is going to see them.

But then again who the f**k knows and Neil could be right, and plus there is even new rumours starting with bands like Blur and Pearl Jam. No doubt it is the most anticipated lineup in recent time

how does it? What info have you got, and from where, to back that up?

I have a variety of proven sources, which are all telling me that they are. They could be wrong (there's been the occasional time they have been, tho even those ones could have been right at the time I was told them), but 99% of the time they're not.

I can rarely ever 100% guarantee what I'm told is accurate, because it's normally coming from unofficial sources (as is my R/L info). But history shows it's very very rarely wrong.

He didn't mention GnR and since Keese mentioned them he has jumped on the bandwagon and said he is 99.9% sure they're headlining when originally he thought it was MCR.

I made clear I wasn't fully confident in MCR - go read the piece again and you'll see that's the case.

Meanwhile, since Keese said about GnR, I've looked into it .... and one source has stated explicitly that they're playing, and another has given what, from reading between the lines, an extremely strong indication that it's right.

(again, the same applies as said above - they could be wrong, but they probably aren't).

At the end of the day everyone knew Blink were going to headline and 2 weeks ago we all thought AF and MCR were shoe ins because Neil had said so. Now it looked like his sources were a load of rubbish and that Libs and GnR will headline, one of whom "definatly" wernt playing this year.

That's because, if you were in the loops I'm in, you'd have known for a long while that they'd verbally agreed to play in 2011 and not 2010.

I've been passed some info in the last couple of days on why things have supposedly changed (and that they've changed fairly recently), and while I haven't been able to completely verify it as completely right, everything I've checked has indicated that it is.

From what I am reading it will be Blink/Libs/GnR as headliners like Keese said all along. The guy from KIGH is deffo going to be in the know of who is playing where and when so I can see AF headlining NME despite the fact "everyone" is going to see them.

erm .... bands very often don't know where they're playing themselves, so have even less info on where other bands are playing. :P

That's not me saying he's wrong, just that he could be. You deciding that he's 100% right on no basis gives your take on things ... erm ... no basis. :P

But then again who the f**k knows and Neil could be right, and plus there is even new rumours starting with bands like Blur and Pearl Jam. No doubt it is the most anticipated lineup in recent time

I know for sure that the Pearl Jam thing in today's Daily Star can be ignored completely. I know what they got told, who told them, and how come PJ got printed in error.

Looks like FR done a hell of a job in keeping line up mostly under wraps this year. Or at least the order of the bands/headliners. Most interesting year in a long time, I was ready to sell my ticket at the announcement of MCR AF Blink and buy tickets for eithher TITP or Download. How stupid that would of been

disagree.....i couldnt even name u an arcade fire song....just checked wikipedia and theyre highest chart position ever is like 19. whilst FNM are legendary staus and have so many fans who would kill to see them live today

oh sorry, I hadn't realised that your take on things was the state for everyone. :P

FNM do not have legendary status. There's only so much interest in reforms at the moment cos the new music output is so poor overall.

The fact that FNM were put on in the tent (and a half full tent at that) and AF played second from top on the main stage 3 years ago shows very clearly which of these act has today's festival attendees greater attention.

and also Reading had already sold out by the time Faith No More were annonced as they were not allowed to be announced till after the download show, otherwise I bet they would of pulled a much bigger crowd

they'd have pulled some more, granted, but not a great number I suspect .... it's not like Download sold out cos they were on the bill, eh? In fact, I'm pretty sure it sold pretty poorly (compared to other years) last year.

It's not the case that FNM are legendary - niche, cult, yes ... but not legendary. They're not a massive draw.
