Ive read about that GnR only played Leeds inn 2002 and didn't play Reading.

What was the reason for this?

I saw them in Newcastle once and were 90 minutes late in stage as he was having a Sunday dinner.

yeah cos its not like the uk's main airport, the one he would of probably used and an international one (heathrow) is 30 mins max from reading... the other main and international airports are what? stansted? gatwick? where are they in comparison to reading and leeds? hour and a half from reading and hours and hours from leeds.

come on use some comon sense, he may have given this as the reason, but i doubt its the real reason, i assume manchester is the biggest airport near leeds, no idea if planes fly from america to it, cant really think why they would, and its further away leeds to manchester than heathrow (the logical choice) to reading

Of course that's not the reason.

As far as I know, MB asked GN'R to play, but they already had a gig booked for the weekend. They agreed to play one day and that turned out to be the Leeds appearance.

Yeah the airport this is bollocks.. Heathrow is really close by. I believe the reason was they had a gig(possibly anMTV award show apparence... am unsure) for the night of Reading.

The airport was the official reason, but obviously bollocks.

PRetty sure it was because at the time Leeds didn't sell out, but Reading did, so MeanFiddler booked a big act for the extra publicity and such like to sell Leeds out and give it momentum in future years.
