Types of tickets

I'm hoping to get early entry tickets this year, but this year will be my first festival. But I don't understand how to get them. Do you have to buy weekend tickets seperately from the early entry? Or can you buy them as a single package together?

I'm wanting to arrive at Leeds on the thursday this year, does this mean that i have to purchase an early birds ticket? last year i just arrived on the friday so an early bird wasn't needed, on the official Leeds 2010 website it says campers without early birds are allowed access to the site Thursday 3am (27th) but the 27th is the friday isn't it? i just don't fancy having to spend £15 on an early bird to get there around midday Thursday if i don't actually need to.

Thanks

* NVM just changed it on the website 5pm on Thursday normal tickets can have access to the site, looks like its an early bird for me!

I know last year at Reading I didn't have an early bird ticket, and I kid you not I was in that Que with my heavy bags for a minimum of two hours. By the time I got in I was in no mood to pitch a tent.

However, my friends who had attained an early bird ticket and traveled down the previously day informed me that they had no problem just strolling into the festival without being searched on their way/on entry.

I've already purchased my ticket on pre-sale this year, and logically I just think early bird makes sense!

The queues are amaizingly long on Wednedays now.

When the Early Entry tickets first came out, hardly anyone got them and it was a breeze getting in. Nowadays, the majority of people go on the Wedneday and it's just as bad as going on the Thursday prior to the introduction of the Wednesday early entry.

No its definatly 3a.m on the thursday your allowed to get there with a normal ticket.

Early birds get you in from wednesday at something like 3/5pm.

The 5pm on thursday is when the music arena opens for people to scope it out the day before the music starts. At Leeds there are a few bands on on the Thursday night at the introducing stage, gets pretty packed though because its so small, also you get a chance look at the stores play on dodgems etc
