HMV tickets, how reliable? and what time should i get there for?

ok, so im pretty worried about not getting a ticket and from what iv heard its pretty full proof going to HMV, is this right? and what time should i be in the queue for?

If you get a ticket from HMV its very reliable if thats what you mean, they are 100% official and are covered by everything a ticket would be from somewhere like SeeTickets, Ticketmaster and others. Obviously this year the whole process will be extremely different as there are only a very small number of HMV's selling them. Last year i got my ticket from HMV Newbury for Reading Festival and arrived at 5pm and got in, yet before that i was at HMV Reading Oracle to try and they had allocated all 500 odd tickets by 3pm. The process works like this: each HMV gets a certain amount of tickets, the town centre one of the festival always has the most and they give each person in the queue a raffle ticket or hand mark with a number on; this number is obviously under how many tickets they have so once they have given say 500 of these numbers out, thats it if they only have 500 tickets, anyone behind that 500th person loses out. I know people who are going to HMV tonight to queue but i reckon tomorrow morning is the best time; good luck.

get there early, take some food and drink with you (not mcdonalds) and take some form of entertainment - Queueing for that long takes the piss. O and if you get there early enough you're certain to get a ticket.

Back in 2006 I got tickets from HMV kingston and queued up about 2 hours before it opened. Anyone that got there at opening time had no chance of tickets. I can't say what the venues they are selling at this year will be like / how many tickets they will have, but I wouldn't get there anything like as late as 2pm.

Much less hassle to just stay at home and do it over the phone/on the computer.

Just get there early with a few mates, queing for ages makes it worth it in the long run. What would you rather que for 2 hours, or have to buy your ticket for £500 of ebay?
