Lostprophets

This obviously isn't a source you're gonna instantly believe but a know a lad who's dad is the Lostprophets promoter and well his dad has told him that there playing 4th down on mainstage on friday.

Also that it's Guns N Roses Headlining that Friday with Biffy Clyro playing 3rd down. Cant remember who he said was 2nd but last year he said early on that they was going to headline the NME tent and they did. Obviously you can take this with a pinch of salt as I have no proof but just thought I'ld let you know.

Sounds likely, and pretty good, out of the strong rumours Guns n roses and Lostprophets are the ones I most want to see, so would probs get a day ticket, maybe MCR playing 2nd?

i can see them being below biffy tbh, there isnt much between them, and it depends who is above them. I think they would happily play 4th to bigger bands. gnr, mcr, biffy, lp possibly

hmm limp bizkit is an interesting one... i would of said 4th at the lowest as well, i dont think there bigger than the 4 bands above them though, so possibly 5th and like reading local was saying, there isnt much of a difference, i just dont think they would like it so perhaps not

i wouldnt say they have got bigger, but its kind of nostalgic, and a band many would want to see, which perhaps they wouldnt before.

were tenacious d bigger than half the lineup in 08?

i can see them playing 5th as all the bands above them are definitely bigger, but i can also see them refusing to playing below 4th. of course, they could be 4th on another day

Unrelated but I thought Tenacious D were given the sub-headline slot to calm people down between Slipknot & Metallica, an hours reprieve between the mayhem.

yeah ive heard that as well and it makes sense. i just know it surprised a lot of people they subbed and even if it was the case im sure there were bigger bands who could have done that. they arnt a big band as such and i was just pointing out they are a band many many people want to see, bumps them up potentially.

limp bizkit played 3rd at download last year i think, and i can see them playing 5th, but then not at the same time. im going for them playing 4th on one of the days if they are even playing

Remember though that Download caters for a specific type of music - namely metal/heavy etc..& so they are probably going to place bands higher up the line-up than what they might appear at a festival that caters for all types of music...
