Well it certainly can't be to the same magnitude as the Daft Punk rumours because Gorrilaz are playing a gig this year.

I would love it beyond words, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Hewlett and Albarn have already said that to set up the multimedia stuff for a Gorillaz gig is a logistical nightmare, and requires tonnes of planning. That is why they cancelled the proposed world tour in 2005. If you're headlining (Like with Coachella) then you can plan around it. But as it's pretty much accepted that Blink, G'n'R and AF/Libertines are going to headline, I can sadly see no space for them on the bill.

Would love to be proved wrong though, I really would!

albarns been quoted recently as saying something about concentrating less on visual effects at gigs and more on the sound and performance. there would be nothing wrong with them playing hidden, with albarn on stage, and perhaps de la soul or something.
