Was basically a watered down version of Reading & Leeds run by the same people with most of the major acts playing. I went every year it was on, was my first festival. Mostly rock like Reading/Leeds but it did have a dance tent, I remember seeing Carl Cox one year. Non-rock headliners included Eminem and The Prodigy.

I think it was a combination of licensing due to too many noise complaints from nearby houses and tickets not selling out - however, I was there every year and it never ever seemed particularly empty from the afternoon onwards. There always seemed to be a decent enough sized crowd.

I think the Chemical Brothers said they were only doing two festival appearances this year, Im sure I saw that on one of the efestival news bulletins.

Really hope they play Rockness again although I doubt it. Can't wait for a new album though. "We Are The Night" was the soundtrack to my travels to the other side of the world in early-08, such an amazing album.

Heard it in full length on Zane Lowe the other night. Instant winner. Im praying for a Scotland gig sometime this year. They were my first proper gig and I still have the tickets from the last show at the Olympia in London a few years ago, plans f**ked up so I never made it. Regret it to this day.
