Where's the Hype

the chances of Guns n roses and libertines pissing people off at the festival must be quite high...

doherty being imprisoned a few weeks before therefore missing the festival has got to be likely

aswell as one person throwing a bottle landing on stage next to Axl who stops the gig and then gets a translator to come on stage to tell us to behave :P

I personally would love, and think that The Libertines should, be headlining mainstage. If tehya re down as Special Guests, it'll bebecuase the headliners were booked, they reformed and offered themselves to R/L. R/L are hardly going to say no are they :P If they aren't announced after all this hype up i will beat someone to death.!.

I agree. I'm an obsessive Libertines fan, but wouldn't like them to headline. Basically it'll be enough for me to see them anyway (they are, admittedly, the only reason I'm going this year) so I'd love a massive headline act (Eminem please). Also, I don't want people to hate them solely because they're headlining. If they're subbing somebody then people may feel better towards them.

Two things, however. I go to every Shambles London gig and read about every other gig and it's been a couple of years since Peter has failed to turn up. He has great management behind him and is far far less erratic. You can 100% guarantee he will turn up, though he does have an important court case in May.

Also, The Libertines are a fantastic band. But remember they are a cult band. They only hit the mainstream just after they split up. The Libertines could, at one of their own gigs, play a 20 song setlist full of b-sides and you would get the whole room singing along to every single word. Have pretty much seen it happen with Babyshambles.
