I hate this so so much, I wish FR had whacked them on the main stage instead of a high NME slot.

I love both bands so much and this feels like being given a surprise present, then told you can only have it if you sacrifice the bigger, shinier thing you've wanted for years.

Please FR, please switch them with Maccabees/Cribs/Dizzee. It would mean so much to a small, loyal festival goer who loves his ridiculous French indie and his stadium rock in equal measures.

Everyone will have clashes. For me it's AF and Pendulum. Gonna have to be Arcade though.

The most depressing is that GNR will probably be about half an hour late, meaning if you were a gambling man you could go see Phoenix and then count on Axl being late.

It's a disgusting risk to take though, I cannot wait to see Axl charge on stage infront of a hoard of fireworks at the start of Chinese Democracy.

Im presuming GnR get the 2 hours aswell, so theres not really anyway of seeing Phoenix without missing a lot of GnR

seeing as theyre gonna have the 2hr slot, im going to watch phoenix and then bank on GNR being late and/or playing for about 3hrs.

i think my worst clash will be drums/limp bizkit, or qotsa/mumford

most of my mates will be at bizkit, and ive seen mumford twice before so i reckon those are answered for me. plus mumford playing nme will never be as good as the times ive seen them before

I'm probably going to miss GnR. got into them after they were big and never saw them but just not sure I'd enjoy it. hoping DKM or Rancid Headline the Lock-up that day anyway so probably miss both of them.

So are Phoenix quite big then? I know every band on the line-up except them and usually know 95% of the bands on the completed line-up. But I've never heard of these guys. Even after listening to them on myspace. (they sound pretty dull btw)

They picked up a Grammy recently though which is a pretty major deal, they're easily as big as Jamie T and AFI anyway.

I think I might be going to Field Day, so the pains of this clash will be somewhat reduced. There's no way I can miss GNR.

This is probably the biggest clash for me too. I'll be watching GnR though.

Band of Horses vs Weezer is also pretty annoying (potentially).

dont count on GnR being late..at Download 06 they started early, were onstage at about 8.15pm as i recall
