Nearly two days on and still no sell out

So it has been nearly two days since tickets came out for L/R 2010 and it is still not sold out on some of the major ticket sites i.e SeeTickets.

I for one really like the line up with both the Blink and GnR days looking really strong from top to bottom.

Just thinking that the time it is taking to sell out do you think people view the line up as poor? and are moving on to other festivals such as TITP and V.

Thoughts?

See you in August Leeds goers.

Leeds weekend tickets are still on sale, but Reading doesn't seem to be, not at the moment anyway.

I maintain it never sells out as instantly as they claim anyway. I think they say it's sold out, so anyone who stumbles upon an active link for tickets later on will buy them without thinking twice about it.

It's a bit like that episode of South Park where Cartman gets his own theme park...

Partly cause there is no Kol / Arctics / Razorlight / Franz / Killers catchy pop songs type act to get the less-dedicated fans to go I guess.

Competition from other festivals too doesn't help, Reading is kind of in the middle of two markets but hasn't got either. Badly phrased but what I mean is V has taken the above bands with Kol and Kasabian headlining, meanwhile the more 'core' Reading goer is probably more tempted by Download with ACDC, Aerosmith, RATM etc.

Man I phrased that poorly.

im sure we will be told reading tickets officially sold out after about 4 hours again, can still grab some every time they go back up briefly tho i assume

however i havnt seen leeds weekends say sold out once on see and ive been checking regularly. leads me to believe leeds really hasnt sold out!!!

plus, theres a thread somewhere about the headliners linking to an nme article. the comments on that article are pretty much all hate towards this lineup. it would seem reading this year isnt attracting the entire nme crowd... except it would also appear they are all buying tickets solely for libertines, to be expected i suppose.

im happy tho, hopefully a much better atmosphere with real music fans there and this is such an improvement on last years lineup :P

which sounds like a good thing to me :P

I agree with the above points that it's quite difficult to define "sold out" as there will be returns and cards that fail to provide funds popping up all the time and the organisers will always be very keen to big up with demand.

theres also the fact that people order them and enter the wrong details, so while it takes a time to be processed, there are less tickets, but then theyre put back into the system. this is often why it goes from sold out on the night, to not sold out at midnight

Times have changed. For anyone into rock, Download has an incredible set of headliners and Sonisphere line-up is also very strong. I went to Reading or Leeds every year for 20 years, but it can't compete with the others for rock stuff anymore and I can get my non-rock fix at Glasto which is a better festival overall. I think Reading/Leeds' niche is now more as an NME festival as V books mainstream indie and pop.

I think right now the only day that has really sold out is the Saturday for Reading for obvious reasons with the libertines, I for one think the line up is amazingly diverse! There must be at least 10 bands I would like to see on there and we've got like 5 more stages to go yet lol!! Iam amazed how you could buy a Reading weekend right now with no troubles at all! Did this happen last year?
