Help me out with Blink 182

I have never understood why people care if bands get together for the money. Im sure money played a part in both libertines and blink getting together but couldn care less. If money was no issue they could go around the world doing free gigs. Most music acts try and make as much money as they can, good luck to them. Just because our favourite musical acts think about their finances doesnt mean they cant put on a good show.

There seem to be plenty of Blink fans around so I guess that's why they've been booked. Does seem strange that people are saying they were huge at their peak though, given that when they played Reading "at their peak" in 2000 and 2003 they were 5th and then 2nd on the bill. I don't recall either of them being particularly good performances either.

I'll give them a few songs to see what it's like, and if it's not doing it for me I'll wander off to one of the other stages. That's what's great about a festival isn't it?

I think the line-up's not too bad so far to be honest. G'n'R could be really crap and at the same time entertaining or they could be really good and Arcade Fire will probably surprise us.

I'm struggling a bit with Blink 182. What have they done recently to get them to headliner status? As far as I can see all they did was reform. Did they headline festivals in days gone by?

Limp Bizkit headlined Rock am Ring last year, surely they've got to be bigger than Blink??!!

during the enema of the state and take off your pants and jacket era they were about as big as a band gets.....

and for people like me who grew up with them all through my school days (im 26 now) they hold a speacial place in my heart and many of there songs now remeind me to all the fun i had when i was younger, chasing girls and getting into trouble....

the 1.5 - 2 hours they will be onstage will be like stepping in a time machine again and reliving my younger care free days....

Yeah, I think i'll do that, ive got one of their albums on my ipod, through my ex, but like I said ive never really listened to them, but I shall be doing that before August! Im up for trying new things and seeing what else I might like!

Yeah to be fair the spin offs from libs were still faily succesful wern't they? so I doubt their desperate for cash. The members of blink have enough other stuff going on for them to not need money from blink really, so i agree with you there. I think at the end of the day, both bands were really close friendship wise and they had big fall outs for whatever reason, and after a fair few years and incidents they realised they just wanted to be friends again! Maybe over symplified a bit but still!!

Yeah i saw Dinosaur jr in 07? was it?, cant remember! Well there are that many bands I wanna see so far this year, so i wont ask you this now, but when we get the full line-up il ask ya for some 'listen-to' recomendations, for something new
