Yes I completely agree, the headliners are poor. But the other bands on the MS are good. The NME tent is a good standard this year. And FR and Lock up should be good. ALso "More acts to be announced"!!!

Stop crying.

Think it proves that people love bands that have to do arena tours etc,

People who were at reading/leeds last year will say how amazingly shocking Kings of Leon were!!! a 2/10 appearance. This was based on Reading, maybe improved at Leeds.

It gets all a bit boring having the same bands over and over again, i think this years headliners are different and maybe not to everybodies likings, but thats the joy of going to festivals. If you expect to have every band you love on the lineup then you are in lala land!!! I admit i dont like GNR, Libertines, but i will go and find an alternative to them or bite my lip and watch them from a distance.

The amount of threads going on about why are these headlining, why are these playing!!! etc, GET A LIFE!!!, the lineup isnt going to lose any of these bands now!!! Only bands will be added, which im sure again wont be to my liking and others.

This years lineup is one of the more diverse, which is why i like it, last years was too "indie" which isnt a RF thing if you look over the history of the festival.

If you want pure indie then go the a commercial festival like V.

On a final note, if you have bought a ticket for Reading/Leeds and are complaining, then you have 2 options i think.

1 - PUT UP AND SHUT UP

2 - SELL YOUR TICKET

Rant Over!!!

I'm hoping that this is a sign that people are taking the line-up into consideration before buying a ticket rather than going 'just to go to Reading/Leeds'.

Call it snobbery, whatever but I don't want to be surrounded by chatty tw@ts or people constantly taking photos of themselves, tweeting etc when I'm trying to watch a performance.

Download never sells out quickly, the fans seem a bit more discerning & tend to wait for the complete line-up before spending their hard-earned. This (IMO) makes for the belting atmosphere as everyone seems to be there for the same reason.

I think instead of doing as a major sale and them a couple of batches before the festival, they are releasing the tickets as soon as the order is not processed for whatever reason. Reading keeps going from sold out to selling tickets as well. Reading always sells out quicker anyway

coach packages for Reading haven't sold out either. think they're all still available. took about 2 days previously I think (maybe less than that).

hope things are calming down and maybe there won't be such stress in future.
