ShockTK
Don't get me wrong, I dislike Paramore, but one of your arguments against the band being the singer's probable reluctance to self-harm is baffling. The_Functions
I take it this doesn't have to be too serious or possible? This would be my dream line-up.. Mainstage Friday: Sonic Youth Dinosaur Jr Mudhoney The Breeders The Residents Boredoms - perhaps a 44 minute version of Boadrum Sun-ra arkestra Deerhunter Tent Friday: GZA - performing Liquid Swords MF DOOM 9th wonder Rahzel Edan Onra Saturday Mainstage: Flaming Lips Arcade Fire Modest Mouse Neutral Milk Hotel Built To Spill 764-Hero Quasi Polvo Saturday Tent: My Bloody Valentine Jesus & Mary Chain The Fall Ariel Pink No Age Swell Maps Thee Oh Sees Sunday Mainstage: Daft Punk Kraftwerk Animal Collective M83 Neu! Black Dice La Bionda Growing Sunday Tent: Pavement Broken Social Scene Guided By Voices This Heat Daniel Johnston Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard I know it's not at all realistic so I didn't really ponder over the stage places very much

DaveElNino
After the discussion, I'm going to give what would probably be my ultimate line-up (main stage only, 9 bands per day, vaguely realistic in terms of bands playing in reasonably expectable sized slots, and allowing for bands to reunite). Friday: AC/DC Nine Inch Nails Faith No More Biffy Clyro Billy Talent The Cooper Temple Clause Future of the Left yourcodenameis:milo Pulled Apart By Horses Saturday: Bruce Springsteen Arcade Fire The National Foals The Gaslight Anthem Frank Turner Metric Okkervil River The Antlers Sunday: Radiohead Muse Sigur Rós Nas Brand New The Secret Machines 65daysofstatic Hope of the States Holy f**k Edited April 4, 2010 by DaveElNino
The_Functions
Are you going to Leeds? If so, there's a beer waiting for you at my eFestival Beer Gazebo. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
ShockTK
Ha yeah I am. Never turn down a free beer either. Your line up looks insane also, would love to see a reformed Replacements play Leeds festival that would be amazing! Was thinking about who I would add to headline my Carling Tent and I was thinking: Friday: fIREHOSE (in an ideal world minutemen; RIP Boon) Saturday: Modern Lovers/Jonathan Richman (I would take either) Sunday: Sleep

scottt
Swans Agnostic Front represent the absolute pinnacle of what's humanely possible with Punk - their music, especially their earlier records, is the most vicious and aggressive music you'll ever hear. Out of all the bands that came out of New York in the 80s post-Ramones (Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch, Mars, James Chance & The Contortions), Swans Agnostic Front were probably the most violent, most confrontational and antagonistic, and at the same time they were arguably the best, most honest and most artistic at what they did. rockinthecasbah
Decided to have a go at this as I was a bit bored. Obviously it's completely unrealistic, but given that the thread title asks for the 'ultimate line-up,' I thought I'd do just that- Main Stage- Fri Daft Punk The Cure Beastie Boys Beck Flaming Lips The Velvet Underground The Hives Brian Wilson Ash Ride Girls Main Stage- Saturday (just a tad unrealistic.) The Smiths David Bowie Pearl Jam Pixies Nine Inch Nails Weezer Dr Dre The Specials Madness Public Enemy The Shins NME- Sunday (Almost all of these would be better in a tent, with a slightly more laid-back feel after the exhaustion the first two days would have resulted in) Radiohead Sigur Ros Elliott Smith (Using the pre-being dead era rule) Interpol Massive Attack Bon Iver Jesus and Mary Chain The Knife Bonobo Brian Jonestown Massacre Thom Yorke
Andy0808
I don't know, I've only been a member for about a week and I've yet to see any, hence the reason I created mine. If I realised this board was being patrolled by the Originality Police I'd have left my Grammar Police badge at the door.
Andy0808
i really couldnt make a realistic lineup aslong as bands like: Blur Pixies Pearl Jam Weezer Interpol Vampire Weekend Bombay bicycle club Madness if bands like that played, i'd be all over it
