Kris Reid
What do you all think then? I personally am still waiting to hear quite a few other acts.. But, some real unique additions there ! Each day of the festival seems to be shaping up nicely!

FannyBaws
I posted this in another thread, this is what I think: OMFG, that is the big announcement? Seriously?!?! No Dubstep, No good house DJs (Mark Knight doesn't count), No Modeselektor, No Beardyman, No........ I'm starting to wish I hadn't bought my ticket already because i'd seriously be switching to TITP right about now despite the shite crowd at TITP this line-up for Rockness is pathetic. Green Velvet is decent addition but I see him every Autumn @ Pressure, I can see Blondie is a fairly big announcement, Kevin Bridges is a good laugh (and a fellow bankie) and I've always wanted to check out High Contrast but god this line-up is so weak in comparison to previous years. It's like a smaller shiter version of TITP now. thought we were getting the main volume of the bill according to Jim?

Take yer Blondie, yer Strokes, yer Doves, yer Ian Brown, yer Vampire Weekend and the tripe that makes up the majority of this line-up and shove it up your arse. Get back to the Daft Punk and Chemical Brothers of this world. We've got TITP already to serve the masses, get some decent fkn dance music booked for Rockness please. Each day appears to have six main acts on this poster - aside from Leftfield and The Strokes (I'm not sure about either) and Soulwax (if you count Braehead as their last gig and not Arches for 2manyDJs), the last time the rest of them played a normal gig in Glasgow they played in no bigger than a 3,000 capacity venue. And these are the headliners... /rant

toastrack
I'm going to dissect this, and sorry to say this but its a load of bs. No dubstep? Have you seen dubstep at a festival?? It's horrific. I run a dubstep night in Glasgow and would never want to hear the grungy dark tunes being played in massive tents. Dubstep definitely isn't made for festivals. Just because certain acts haven't been announced doesn't mean they aren't playing. RockNess is a much younger festival so it needs to spread its announcements to keep it in the news etc. So don't get your knickers in a twist. Saying it's a line up like TITP is rubbish. I don't think TITP would have thought to book the likes of Leftfield, Howard Marks, Kevin Bridges, The Arcadia Arena and so on. . . RockNess has so much more going on than music, so if you base what festivals you go on by the line up then this ain't the festival for you, maybe you should go to TITP or something cos you'd be more welcome there with that sort of mentality anyway. Blondie - You may not like them but its a big deal booking them The Strokes - Even if you don't like them, the fact a festival like RockNess got them is massive, it's more unexpected than Daft Punk or Chemical Brothers playing RockNess. Doves - Good band, will help attract people to the festival Ian Brown - I don't particularly get, but he seems popular so I understand the booking Vampire Weekend - Anyone with any music knowledge knows thats a big booking! Daft Punk aren't touring this year so that kinda means they can't play RockNess. The Chemical Brothers will play RockNess again nae doot so yeah don't rage. Blondie would sell out the SECC, as would Vampire Weekend. Thats enough "massive" acts though. I don't want to see RockNess going down the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga route. Thats what makes a festival turn into TITP. And yeah this is easily the deepest line up they've had yet. You just have to look into it a little more. Guy Rope Tripper
I was kinda gutted with the announcement at first but to be honest the lineup was good to start with so I'm not too fussed. I'm going back to rockness for the 2nd year in a row because of the atmosphere. I was getting sick of TITP after 7 years & I found exaclty what I was looking for in a festival when I went to rockness last year. I bought my ticket ages ago so I'm not gona grumble if the latest wave of acts isn't great. The best sets I saw last year were from bands I'd never heard before so I'm walking in with the same mentality this year. One question though... Is kevin bridges gona be doing a standup set in a tent or used as some kind of compere? Pretty big deal booking a stand up comic who can sell out the SECC, but I'll be interested in to what capacity he'll be used. Standup comedy is something I'd like to see more of at festivals, maybe get like half a dozen comics a day & run a tent for the afternoon for people to chill out & have a giggle in. Kowalski
Blondie are controversially low on the line-up poster, so I think that rules them out of headlining Clash tent. Still hoping for Massive Attack. Still think PiL will play seeing as they are playing Electric Picnic, same as Leftfield. I would pay good money to see Leftfield and Lydon on stage for Open Up! smutchie
Been a while since i've been on here! Missed the debates I only found out about the new announcements this morning, but I am really really happy Blondie are playing! Good old sing-a-long. Would love to see a few more Djs like the Crookers etc but for the moment I am content
