New Bands...

Sort of irrelevent to Reading but I'm gettin kinda bored of listening to the same old stuff. why is their no new bands about recently?!

so what i was thinking is you could all help me by posting any new good bands/songs you know of!!!

i like bands such as:

-Libs

-Kasabian

-courteeners

-xx

-bombay bicycle club

-Prodigy

-Arctics

-Oasis

-The Rifles

blah blah blah. you get the idea. and please no crude comments along the lines of 'how about liking good bands to start with' or 'go and read NME' etc.

oh and some standard old school bands such as the clash, madness, stone roses, the specials, etc.

Mumford and Sons are definitely worth a listen.

Give Frightened Rabbit a try? Their new album's brilliant and I don't doubt they'll play.

And Modest Mouse are a good shout, seriously good band.

And Weezer obviously.

The guy yo said Airborne Toxic Event is spot on.

Saw them at Leeds last year and thought they were amazing.

A review slagged them off saying they were all the worst bits of Arcade Fire, Interpol, Bright Eyes and The Smiths. Despite that review they are one of the best new bands i've listened to in a while...

new bands? erm.. the only relatively new band i wuold recommend is Band of skulls. They are amazing.

Otherwise definately check out mew if you havent already, though they won't be at R&L.

Listen to Radio 1, they play a lot of the bands that will be on the R1/NME Stage, quite a few of the bands already announced, like The Big Pink and Mumford & Sons are played a lot

The new album's supposed to be very good. But I'm skeptical. I haven't really liked anything they've done since the Hand of Blood EP.
