I personally think Myths of the Near Future is a really listenable album, and the guitarist is very good. I think that they are over-rated by the NME crowd, and as a result are underrated by everyone else. However, some bands that NME latches onto and ruins were actually quite good in the first place.

Catchy tunes, seem to be good live and generally fun

Just the old cliche of NME loves them so everyone feels the need to counteract that and hate them too much
