Dukeeyyy
Haha, it's a sad fact that there is a lot of people my age who go to festivals like Leeds and give a fair justification to this sort of view. However, I'm 16 and I'll be going this year and I assure you they're the kind of people who the majority of people my age would wish weren't there too... not all of us are out to cause trouble. Think you'll find most of us just wanna enjoy the music and have a good weekend!
BlurFan1994
I'd like to point out - I'll be wearing tracksuit bottoms at the festival; I hope this doesn't make everyone presume I'm a total chav!

dblythe
I'm 16 and purely there for the music, but i know exactly the kind of people this thread is aimed at. Someone who posted on Facebook, "Fkn wicked 4 day session at leeds fest, thanks dar." I want to know where these people go during the day because i can conform he doesn not know one band which is playing. I can remeber this year a few of my friends in the gym we put our iPod in the dock, he took it out and put Basshunter on, and called Pendulum "Indie shite". j-j-j-j-joe!
I'm 17 and have had an idea: Every under 18 who goes should have to answer a basic quiz about at least two of the bands who are playing. Half the people in my year who are going would certainly never pass, unless FR decide to add an X Factor stage (please god, don't!). Then me and my friends could go to Reading in peace and not have to pay any attention to all those people who go purley as a social statement. Ps. I have also saved the economic crisis. Thatcher will be given her state funeral next week (after her unfortunate 'accident' tomorrow), and people will then be able to pay 5 pound each to dance on her grave. The money will come rolling in. Chihiro Cheeks
As I'm now 26 I wouldnt mind if they banned under 18s! lol. I first went at 16 and took my bro the year after when he was 14, but we just went for the music n didnt dress like every day there is a fashion show n had no desire to get drawn on in marker pens or convered in glow paint. The kids that go now are way worse. They are mainly chavs/ trendy indie kids.
Dommy
At the same time, I got referred to as a 'chav' a few times in the past 2 years due to me wearing tracksuit bottoms. Because when it's muddy wearing jeans is retarded, I'd much prefer to ruin some old £3 trackies than some jeans id quite like to actually wear after the festival. The one thing which surprised me was the people referring to me seemed to think there was a dress code for camping in a muddy field, surely "stuff you don't mind getting covered in mud" should be good enough. silencio
at the end of the day, some kids are c**ts and some aren't. same goes for adults, except they have perhaps had more time to reflect on their issues and have decided to lock themselves in a dark room for the summer. camp with people that aren't going to drive you insane and jobs a good'un. i know loads of morons around my age (17) from my town that go every year, i know to avoid them at all costs and instead hang around with proper music fans. dunny
I don't know about reading, but it wasnt that bad at Leeds last year, there were obviously some c*nts there, but a lot of the "kids" were just having a good time and thats fair enough, I bet its the type of people who went into their tents at 9pm and read a book every night that are complaining. dunny
they'd miss headliners if they went to bed that early and tbh would you like your tent slashed when you were in it and didn't have a clue what was going on?
lharris92
I would bet that that only happens to a very, very small percentage of the people there. Edited April 12, 2010 by lharris92
