sunday night

Surely it's not going to change much apart from the fires, all it means is that I'll bring some booze in earlier. I mean two cases per person, so 4 friends can still bring in a ton of beers for themselves and their mates. Everyone will still get pissed.

I really doubt security will want to argue all night with people who've left the campsite too, they'll probably chuck a few out and let the majority back in.

It takes me quite a lot to get drunk but even I would find it easy with 2 cases. I don't really see how thats going to help.

The rest of the measures are good though I don't see it stopping due to all the wacky bell ends that are at Reading every year who think it's fun to set fire to things and destroy everything.

Shame about the campfires in a way but I'm pleased something is being done to tackle the rioting. Drunken prats are easily distracted but I dread to think what would happen if a fire lost control in the fields.

You're right this won't stop rioting since it's become simply a matter of fact on Sunday nights. But at least if there's more measures in place to put the fires out, it'll reduce significant risks. Now we just need something to stop the prats from purposely falling into/breaking tents.

Where's the source for the no campfires after 8pm bit? I couldn't find it on the main website but I may have been looking in the wrong place.

Will make no diference, people will already have enough alcohol, if they dont two crates will easily be more than enough for one day/night and there is a supermarket on site, and stewards will get bored of putting out fires and when there are tents and gazebo's on fire they are going to be trying to put them out not peoples small camp fires.

Yeah, as people have said, it's a bid to clamp down on rioting.

You won't stop them. If people have the desire to riot, you won't stop them from doing it. You can stop people from drinking (ish) after a certain time but you can't stop them from being w*nkers. It's the same with getting pissed too. People will get pissed if they have the desire to - you won't stop them.

Actually, that's something I need clarifying too.

I was talking on here the other day about limitations for what you can bring in (with regards to beer). My intentions are to bring a crate of Carling, a crate of Guinness and a crate of Tuborg in my car - and from what I believe, this is fine. Now, what hasn't been explained to me is whether or not I can bring in a bottle of Grant's or Bushmills (haven't decided yet). Do they have a policy for bringing in glass bottles?

First of all, your first line of text didn't really make sense and I can imagine you pondering over the order of words for at least 10 minutes before even attempting to post it.

Second; haughty and self-righteous?

Who the f**k do you think you are, Stephen Fry? You utter knob. :P

Self-righteous is the wrong word to use; sorry, it just is. Haughty is too, however it would apply more to you than it would to me. I asked a simple question which had been answered by two people prior to you even getting involved in this thread - you didn't need to get involved because the answer had already been given, but you felt compelled to offer your worth purely because you felt it was an opportunity to be superlicious. There's no harm in, that, of course, but if you're going to try it, at least try and execute it with something other than neolithic incompetence.

Nice try though. Next time you come to a flame-war armed with a dictionary as a weapon and a thesaurus as ammunition, at least know what the words in both of them mean before you fire them into thin air hoping they'll hit something.
