just throwing this out there, i still cant undrestand how 2manydj's made it this far

as much as i love them, they have played in scotland like....4 or 5 times in the past year or so? its not like its a band that we aint seen for a while or have lost touch with ala leftfield / the strokes

dont know if this is just testament to how good the brothers are or says something more fundamental about the scottish crowd that T and rockness a little have tapped into with repeat headliners etc....

See the thing is with the headliners I think, is an age thing with Leftfield for sure. I mean I was speaking to my sister and her mates the other week. Now she is 18 and all her friends about the same, they would have been 3 when Leftism came out and not much older when Rythm and Stealth came out. They don't have a clue who they are. Unlike acts like the Chemical Brothers, Leftism have done little since so to the vast majority of punters at Rockness they are pretty much an unknown.

Fatboy Slim is a been there and done that.

The Strokes are a bit different as even the youngest punters will have heard the name if not the tunes but still are a relatively unknown quantity as it's their come back.

That left the way for the known quality acts like 2manydjs/Soulwax, Boys Noize etc that young people are interested in and then Club 75 who have mountains of hype around them and also have the Justice tag to help them along for the floating music fan ergo the way this tournament has worked out.
