10 man tent?

Anyone been in one before, if so, how did it go?

We're in 2 minds right now about having such a large tent and it being targeted by petty thieves and such, any help would be good!

Better off with a few small ones IMO

I've never done it mind, but I think having 10 people share a tent would get quite diguisting quite fast.

Plus if you have a few small ones you can put them in a circle and have a place to sit

I personally prefer having space.. I take a 4 man with me. I wouldnt say it was gonna be targetted by theives, but its just easier to put up a smaller tent each/between 2

If there's ten of you I think it's definitely a better idea to get a few tents rather than all cram into a ten man. If there's less then it could be cool. I'm not sure, if I was a petty thief, whether I'd rather go for a small tent or a big tent. Just don't know.

If there is 10 of you it would be much better to have more smaller tents. Better for socialising & hiding any valubles. Large tents stand out more & if people can afford a large tent, then they can probably afford lots of other stuff too & may have brought it with them.

It would be more difficult for a thief to go round all your tents than just the one.

Having smaller tents allows you to stake out a bit of territory too, which can be nice as it does get very busy in certain places in the campsite.

ten man tents dont hold ten people anyway. we took one to NASS festival and jus got 6 of us in with all of our stuff. it doesnt get too messy inside if you just put all your rubbish in a bin. good to wake up and have everyone together as well although it does get extremely hot around midday inside.

Totally agree with the advice here. Lots of small tents are better. At Glastonbury we usually have 5 or 6 tents together. At Womad we add a gazebo for central socializing/drinking.
