how does the atmosphere vary between stages?

Well mosh pits are more likely in the lock up, for obvious reasons.

I always find the lock up to have the best atmosphere. I find punk gigs always have the mosh pits and everything to keep everyone happy, but theres never many nob heads looking to hurt people.

agree with the lock up comments. FR stage is always a bit quiet in the day, mostly full of people having a break and few hardcore fans. main stage varies through the day - I guess cause it has the most variable bands, but also gets more intense as the bands get bigger

Main Stage - Quiet during the day (as in your can get a good spot for most bands) stupidly crowded for the top 2

Radio1 - Love it since they changed it, so many places to chill out with and still be in a good spot, also good atmosphere down the front.

Lock Up - One big mosh :P

FR - Empty or busy, its that simple

Comedy - Always a spot to sit down at the back except for the headliner, if you dont come half hour before you wont get in.

For the headliners the main stage atmosphere is amazing, but most of the time the radio 1 has the best atmostpher by a mile. FR tends to be empty or packed to annoyance and the lock up/dance has a decent atmosphere but doesn't tend to be as exciting as R1.

Mainstage - Mostly pretty chilled, towards the evening te crowd start getting excited for headliners and gets pretty good

Radio1/NME - Again pretty chilled but has a lot of on the brink of becoming huge bands, and when they play it can have an amazing buzz about it

Lock-Up - Pretty crazy throughout the day, small crowded venue type atmosphere, perfect for a good mosh

FR - Like someone said, its either empty or busy lol

Alternative - Lots of people just sat with a beer chilling, then a massive crowd for the headliners
