Just a point... every one of that team yesterday...we have watched over the previous season on MoTD playing a magnificent game, scoring brialliant goals, being tactically aware---etc --the f**kin lot.

Based on that, they were (rightly) selected and we rightly had confidence in em.

But, and this is the point---- they just dont have the ability to play as a team. That is the problem. As individuals, they are good enough to get to the Semis...as a team, we just about reached where we deserved.

How can that change? The way the premiership is and with so many foreign players i cant see how.

i am really f**kin sick.

The next world cup is in brazil, even with a better squad england would struggle there. The squad will either be past its sell by date like the current italian one or massively inexperienced.

Another observation, the england players didnt look like they were hurting as much as the korean or americans in my opinion.

Probably delighted to be returning to their beloved clubs where they get told how good they are, so they can put the hassle of going all the way to South Africa to be told they're shit behind them.

The media are certainly not without blame.

Its probably all came as a shock to the english media because they built this game up on the basis that there was not even any point in Germany showing up.

Oh wait.. they did. They were better than england. That wasnt in the script???? Find a scapegoat. Ball, pitch, altitude, vuvuzelas, Sepp Blatter

I disagree about redknapp, listening to him on the bbc he is as deluded as the rest and thinks england have far better players than everyone else and should just turn up and win every game. Hodgson would be the best choice, uncotreversial and will probably be realistic about expectations. However I bet he would choose liverpool above england.

I can only say how I and the rest of the nation feel this morning... if I was a member of the England sqaud this morning I would imagine I would be even more sad / upset...

If they aren't that tells me they are simply not as bothered as the rest of us. I can't muster much of a smile this morning.

If Harry Redknapp gets anywhere near the England set up, I'm tracing my family tree back for an alternate national team to support (I don't have to go too far back for Scotland, but I think I can do better!)

random thing, why the hell do people 'expect' england to do well in world cups? there post '66 record is absolutely terrible, the fact they haven't beaten 'one of the so called big teams' in a knockout game in eons says everything about them.

germans got it right - after they got hammered by england in berlin all them years back, they pretty much turned around and told every team in the bundesliga to sort themselves out and get their acadamies working properly - now look at them. that muller is going to be one hell of a player in the future (fast tracked through bayerns academy because they knew he was that good, hell he's hardly played for germany before the world cup), they've taken a chance with him and it's paid off (same with that kedhira guy who looks fowking awesome)

you rarely, hell, ever see that happen with england (when it almost does - e.g walcott, the manager gets scared to play them), england has some really good youth players - adam johnson, agbonlahor, ashley young, jack rodwell etc, but can anyone on here actually see them ever actually getting a proper chance at international level for a while due to the fact england managers just seem to stick with the same old players and never really give new up and coming a chance at international level. can anyone ever see a england manager dropping rooney for being off form for example? i can't...

I believe that if Redknapp got the job he would take the "square pegs round holes" problem, and somehow make it worse. He, like many before him, is arrogant enough to think he can succeed where two managers who actually have coached at the top (top) level failed. He wouldn't have the balls to drop the players who have had their chance and blown it.

You give redknapp the job and you will just get more of the same, he is just as infatuated by the current crop as the media. More Terry, Rio, Gerrard, Lamppard, Rooney irresepective of form. More playing players out of position to accomodate big names. Hey he will probably recall beckham and owen. I think redknaps idea of change would be swpaping james for hart and defoe for crouch.
