I believe that if Redknapp got the job he would take the "square pegs round holes" problem, and somehow make it worse. He, like many before him, is arrogant enough to think he can succeed where two managers who actually have coached at the top (top) level failed. He wouldn't have the balls to drop the players who have had their chance and blown it.

One thing if nothing else and English Manager would bring to the table is ENGLISHNESS.

I often wonder, and put myself in the dressing room.... amd i`m sat there...and the manager comes in with his motovational speech before a huge game.... and i cant understand a f**kin word he is saying!

He might, through an interpretator got over the tactics he wants me to play... but its as sure as hell that he aint gonna stoke me up aka Brain Blessed.

Keegan for insatnce, and Bobby Robson even moreso I`m sure would have held court in the dressing room...but the formers tactical awareness was zero. Bobby was unliucky not to get to the final.

Personally, 12-18months ago, we were saying Capello is def the man for the job...he`s brought disipline, coherence etc to the side--we looking good for the World Cup blah blah blah... but in the last 3months--its all gone down the pan. Why is that???

which i dont... watch football week in, week out, it's just pissed me off for years how people claim england 'should' win the world cup (or even the euros) just because we invented the game and stuff like that.

we've had a shocking national team for years - like someone further up said, we're still living in the dark ages when it comes to playing, whoever said we seem to breed defenders who have zero skill and are scared of the ball - pretty much spot on. other countries progressed with the times ages ago, we're still insanely behind when it comes to international football

The England problem is them under preforming, like Rooney who didn't turn up.

We had 2 in Ferdinad and King but both crocked at the last minute and if Dawson and been in top form last/earlier in the season he wouls of probably taken Upson spot. He's also called up Cahill & Shawcross before to have a look at other defenders.

The vialli/marcotti book is my favourite football book ever and after reading it, the reader is left no illusions that england cant win a world cup anytime soon. A couple of things they mention from memory.

1. In England a headless chicken who gives 100% gets far more credit than a lazy player capable of a moment of magic. While Italians think the opposite.

2. The English think tournaments can be won with passion. NO other country in the world does.

3. Discuss tactics with a group of young italians they will be very interested and ask lots of questions. Do the same to a group of young english players and they will look back blank depserate to get out for a kick around.

Shocking press conference.... Tiredness being blamed besides the camp constantly saying everyone was fit...

Its all bullshit isn't it.... While I back a mid season break to just chalk it up to being that is a total coup out...

If the whole lot of em went on TV/radio/press and said "Look, we are sorry. we blew it...I did try, honestly,i did try...but as a team, we just didnt do it. I cant say i was tired--i was fired up for this. Its all i`ve thought about for a long time. I am sorry, for the fans, the country as a whole and I`m really upset about it all myself".

Well, that would do for me. Then I`d get on with it and wait for the Euros in 2yrs and get back aboard the next wagon of optomism.

I dont think its gonna happen though,do you?

I would be bothered but I was expecting a hard game and after a good too many drinks last night my frustrations are gone, besides my mixed nationality means I'm still in it.

England unfotuantely because home is where the heart is. Born and raised in England, english is my 1st tongue and I would say I embraced english culture but that's not true becuase it came 1st.

My parents were Portugese and I can speak the lingo but say if Carlos Quieroz somehow saw my Sunday pub team and was impressed enough that he wants me to play for Portugal I'd say no as I feel english as this is my country even though I've got roots else where. I will celebrate Portugal goals and cheer them on but the entire time I will be wishing it was England.
