As I keep saying and the squad keep proving, quality individuals don't make a team.

Meanwhile, a boro supporter with hope? .... and people say I'm nuts. :P

There's no point having a stupid amount of hope which goes waaaaaay beyond the possible. I'd have thought you'd have learnt that by now, even tho you've only lived thru Boro's 'glory years'.

Hi,

If anyone thinks they know their stuff about the world cup, or are good at guessing, i would like to announce my World Cup Score Predictor. The rules are as simple as they get, basically predict the score of each match in the world cup for the chance to win some money. Its free to enter and i have put up a prize fund of £50.

Any feedback/comments on the predictor are very welcome, even if they are bad.

I'll be in the pub for every England match - it'll be an amazing atmosphere. I'll be singing and shouting along with everyone else and I'm looking forward to it.

Meanwhile, Neil will be sat in the corner annoying everyone telling them they're all sheep for thinking England will win and are in fact - contrary to the opinion of footballing experts past and present - shit.

As I said earlier, pardon me for getting excited and having a little bit of faith in my team on the eve of the greatest sporting spectacle on the planet. I know what attitude I would rather have.

i have no worries about reminding anyone that out of the 193 countries in the world we are one of only 7 to win the thing.

7. and were one of them. done it. and at some point, will do it again.

I am proud of our history that shows us that we've won it, and of course I like hearing about it.

My gripe is hearing about it during the likes of South Africa v Mexico which has absolutely f**k all to do with England. That and the obligatory 'let's go to England's training camp' at half time between Argentina and Nigeria.

Enough with that shite.

Just like you I'll be sat there enjoying each game, hoping they'll win.

But my hope is tempered with realism. I know they defo ain't gonna win the thing.

So when they go out - which they will - I won't be sat in the corner crying into my pint.

Meanwhile, people like those "football experts" have said Sven is a top top manager; that Scolari is a top top manager; that Mancini is a top top manager, yet they're not, as has been proven since.

One day you'll get to realise that there is no authoritatively correct view over something like football, not even from 'experts'.

heres the flaw neil. i dont cry into my pint, throw myself under a train or anything else that lessons my life

the most england losing has ever affected me was in 86, when i was 14, and naively believed that cheats never prosper. that was a hard lesson to learn.

i cried then, i'm not embarrassed to say it.

since then, the most it ever affects me is a couple of hours of disappointment with the team or the coach or the sodding linesman, that was never offside. and then its hey ho, lets go again.

but it is always a wonderful ride, i ride i think your missing out on

come on, just once, just a little one............

'we still believe...........'

i believe we can win it

i think we probably wont

come ON neil, just one little whisper

'we still believe.........'

it will make you feel better

The only think that I believe is that we don't have a hope of winning. The players have the individual skills (well, just the first 11 - it's well flaky after that), but what they don't have is a team ethic.
