Mardy
Morning,I've been really ambivalent about this WC, but then watched that thing on the tely yesterday about World Cup shocking moments, not a very good programme at all, but made me realise how much of my life has been marked out in World Cup's, and I've ssrt of started looking forward to it again now. I know that come next week, I'll end up staying up to al hours watching brilliant, ridiculous matches. Not interested in England really, just want to watch a load of brilliant football, and get all exctied about it again, like a 10 year old.A bit of a plug, we're doing twatball, it's like fantasy football, but you get points for players & teams being dicks and doing daft things. eFestivals
Mexico 1-0 up against Italy. The Italians are NEVER going to win the competition with such appalling form.Bosnia 1-0 up against Germany. The Germans are NEVER going to win the competition with such appalling form. What did you say very recently? Something about "friendlies mean nothing" - or does that only apply when England play shit? Meanwhile, with the USA having lost 3-2 to Brazil in a competitive cup final just a year ago, England can be expected to lose against the USA. Langdale Wolf
Had my Glastonbury 2010 playlist on the iPod on the way into work.3 Lions came on. Awesome. And it was preceded by Billy Bragg's Hard Times of Old England (Retold). So I sang along heartily to the last verse:"So now to conclude and to finish my songLet us hope that these hard times they will not last long. And I may soon have occasion to alter my song,And sing O, the good times of old England,In old England very good times.""We still believe....." Langdale Wolf
Can you change a squad member before you start your first game?
ampersand
I think so - if it's an injury problem.
Langdale Wolf
who would come in if it was a lengthy one? and even if it was just for first couple of games, i doubt he'd be chucking him out the team.
ampersand
Well it depends on the severity of the problem, but IF they can call a replacement in (and I'm not 100% on that) I would imagine that Dawson would have a chance as one of those omitted from the 23? eFestivals
Yea just about to post thathttp://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/w...010/8722236.stmHmm not good news, but not entirely surprising. There is always a bloody injury before the world cup.Hopefully its just a precaution. Can you change a squad member before you start your first game?If he's done his ligaments as they seem to think, that's him right out of the tournament. As someone's said, that's England's chances improved. Players can be replaced right up until the first match kicks off.
Tugger2k
i thought him but wasn't sure if he was defence or midfield.but i think it's a bit foolish to be pleased that rio is injured. unless youre a temporary algerian of course

Tugger2k
Cool - thought that was the case.I have to admit that Ferdinand was a worry for me. I would be FAR more comfortable with King or Carragher at the back with Terry. Edited June 4, 2010 by Tugger2k
