I've got France as going out in the group stages - feeling quite confident now. Felt that France had to get three against Uraguay as Mexico are fast on the break and South Africa will do well - quite chuffed

I'm reckoning a Germany vs. Brazil final - Spain would likely have to get through Italy, Germany and Brazil to win - that's a very tall order, even for Spain.

Im amazed how low germanys expectations are in this country. If I heard things right englands odds are 8-1 and germany 16-1. To me that doesnt seem right with the germans pedigree. They have finished 2nd and 3rd in their last 2 tournaments.

To be fair, they had the easiest run to the final in World Cup history in 2002, and hosted the thing in 2006.

Argentina look very impresive to me, its amazing in 2010 that veron is still able to pull the strings in a world cup. Argentina could/probably should be more than 1-0 up but its a long tournament and theres no point expending more energy than necessary and risk injuries in week 1.

I was actually thinking that the result in the england v usa match doesnt matter too much. England are bound to qualify but am not sure it matters too much whether its first or second. I think germany, serbia, ghana and to a lesser extent australia could all give england tough games where either side could progress. People would say avoid germany but I think in the group they are in theres no guarnatees they will win the group and could easily come second.
